The HID's should have come with a wiring harness and if they didn't then you need to order one. Hooking that up is simple, should just be a positive and negative to the battery and one plug that connects to your factory headlight plug to control on/off and hi/lo. No extra relays needed and there should already be fuses in the harness.

As for the demon eyes I am not familiar with those but there should be just a positive and ground wire on each light. The actual bulbs are LED and will draw very little power so you would be safe grounding the negative leads anywhere convenient and then running the positive leads back into the cabin to be controlled by a switch. No relay needed but definitely install a fuse in the power lead to the switch.

Yes. The hids are plug in play. I was trying to figure out the demon eyes. I was think along those lines for wiring them up maybe doing it with the fog light mod and have them run when the ignition is turned on.

I wouldn't recommend it. Red lights on the front of your car are illegal and will get you pulled over and ticketed real quick. My car has RGB halos and I only run them white on the street. Other colors are for pics, parking lots and car shows.

Yeah that’s true. So I’ll just have to wire a switch up to it for sure. Thanks for the help

I always had issue with my demon lights and ending up just not installing the harness (power wire, ground wire, and controller box). I think there was something wrong with the controller box because one would work and the other would not or they were light up different color. I bought my retro fit kits used for a little less then this new. This kit is a really good price.

The was no inline fuse (but would be good to add one), my was just a plug and play.

After some research on other forums. I believe I might wire the demon eyes to the dome light. I was going to use them as daytime running lights so I should of went with white. Can’t think of anything else but not wiring them up at all. Anybody have ideas on how to wire them up to the dome light. Thanks.

Wiring them to the dome light will only light them when the dome light is normally on, such as when unlocking the car or when the door is open.

I'd suggest using the switched power to radio head unit instead. It is a lot easier to get to being that it is behind the head unit. This is a good place to put the LED controller if you think of going with something other than just straight white.

Another thought I had back in the day was to wire it up with the intercooler pump. It wouldn't light up until 5 minutes into the drive, but the wiring would be a whole lot more simple since you are already starting under the hood (no need to wire through the firewall).

For my car - what I did is I wired it using a relay as follows: The switched radio would switch the relay to pull power from the lighter. If it was off, then it would pull power from the dome light. What this does is allows me to unlock the car and enjoy the demon eyes as I walk up to it. Then once I switch it on it pulls power from the lighter and stays lit. When I shut it all down it goes back to power from dome light, which is off, so the lights go off as well.

I chose the dome lights because the demon eyes are red. I don’t want to drive with them on because of tickets. I should of gone white to use them as driving lights. Do you have a wiring schematic. I’m interested in the way you did it

Well - if that is the case then I guess wiring it to the dome light should do the trick. Sorry I missed the part where you where shining out red instead of white. I just always figured the light was too dim to really catch LEO's eye in the daytime and the headlights on will more than washout any red you have in the demon eye. But I understand that the experience could be different where you live. I can't think of any other switched source that will do what you are looking for it to do.

So I finally had time to find the wire for the dome light. Found the connector on the passenger side kick panel. So what I’m going to do is wire it up with a relay and a switch. Switch power will come from the wire used for the fog light mod. Now to find a relay.

Somewhat relevant to this post regarding this vendor....

In my recent experience, SW-Lights / swlights.com has poor customer service. Extremely slow response to emails. Missed promised shipping dates by weeks. I ordered ~$1100 of light mods in November and only received them after opening a claim at the end of February. Only responds to up-sell, or make empty apologies/promises due to the Paypal disputes. I even asked for just a straight refund before making a claim. I made the mistake of dropping the claim with the once he gave me a tracking number. I should have waited to make sure all of my order was in the shipment. In the end, SW-Lights / swlights.com also shorted me on $42 of LEDs and has not responded to my emails. I don't enjoy doing this but, like most people, I work for a living and hate having to chase people down to hold up their end of a deal. Hopefully the equipment works. They did give me $50 refund for the lateness. But I was shorted the balance of my order. Just an FYI maybe I'm an outlier but I still have radio silence......buyer beware.

I had such a miserable experience with SWlights. Had to send mine back twice. I definitely got completely ripped off in the long haul.
They didn’t seal them the first time around after waiting 5 months to receive them. Second time they used clear sealant and got it all over the lenses, almost an overtly sloppy job.
Third time they just slathered black RTV over the clear and didn’t put any tape down for clean lines etc. and it had at best about 70% coverage. Huge gaps between the lenses and the housing.

They fog up like crazy and I’m fairly embarrassed to open my hood to have the tops of the lights visible.

I’m a pretty laid back guy, and this is a pleasure car so to me there is never any rush to get anything done or installed other than the enjoyment of the process. They were straight up assholes on the phone and delivered a product that looks like complete trash.

I’ll ultimately source new lenses and remake them myself from scratch and just keep the HID components. What a waste of $600.

same deal! They ‘worked’ with me for so long that I lost my ability to make a claim through my credit card or PayPal. I’m planning on stopping by their shop this summer when I head down to SoCal for some shows.

No sh*t? Totally blows that SWLights / swlights.com screwed you over. Obviously, I will not do business with them again. I'll just post my experiences around as a warning for others on forums and other social media. That is a good bit of cash to disappear without an update. I'm also covered with my CC if these things turn out to be garbage / malfunctioning. They look OK, but I need a clear day to see if they are gtg.

I recommend anyone seeing this thread to make a hard pass on doing business with SW-Lights / swlights.com
