I forgot that I told myself I'd never do headers on jack stands again.. I'm getting too old for that..

The top two rear bolts were a real pain. I was able to get the very back one from the bottom after dropping the motor and trans down far enough and the second to last one from the top by doing the opposite..

Seriously this is the last time lol.

Just got the passenger side in tonight. I'll do the driver's in the next day or so.

If you get confused or have questions just call MM directly. They have helped me through quite a bit as I'm not a mechanic but pretty handy.

Finally had a day off from work today and was able to get the driver side header on.

Much easier than the passenger side.

Are you guys using a heat shield to protect the starter?

I work nights this weekend so I decided it would be a good time to polish the whipple snout. Easy off oven cleaner being used to get the anodized coating off.

Also took a look at the innovators west balancer metco style... it's almost to pretty to put on.

My powder coated staff should be done early next week and I can really start putting the car back together.

hahaha... I've said this 4 times now.. but I'll never do headers on a cobra again while its on Jackstands.. If I had a lift it would be much easier, but laying on the ground..especially in the middle of winter is miserable

Those uploaded out of order. I was trying to show the progression.

320grit to polished.

Yeah, the way it displayed on my screen I was going to say it looks okay, but then the photo of the finished product popped up. Damn! That thing looks awesome! Great job on polishing that thing.

Got the IW balancer on along with the Metco accessory pulleys. At first glance I'm wishing I would have coated the timing cover. I guess I'll do that sometime in the future.

Completely for got to order a new belt so I'm waiting for that to come in.

Tomorrow I'll put in the kmember and miscellaneous front suspension stuff.

OP, I know the previous owned did it but . . . why use an RXT on this car, when the RSTs are rated at 800 crank HP?

Just curious, as I have an RST on mine, and I'm wondering if I made a mistake. I could only find one instance online where an RST failed someone with less than 800 . . .

I'm not sure the Previous owners reasoning for using the RXT but if it didn't already have one I would have put one in for sure. I've used a RXT on all of my cobras with great success. Never used a RST. My thought process is "room to grow" and the clutch is like butter.

Are you using a sealer on these to keep oil from seeping out? The factory bolts came with a sealer on them, which might be hard to do on this setup.

You know I didn't even consider anything like that. I'm going to have to go back and rethink this now. I'm glad you pointed it out before I had the whipple put on. HAHA.
