The sticker on the FRPP exhaust package has S-Type on it so I’m guessing it my be patterned after the Borla S-Type exhaust. Maybe that’s why Borla discontinued it since they make it for Ford.

I bought Ford Performance Mufflers for my 2014 car and they were the best sounding (to me) of any of the dozen or so I tried........BTW.....they were the ONLY "Chambered Muffler" Borla ever made.....diagram below!!

FYI......Ford Performance Mufflers by Borla for s550 cars were (are) straight through design like everything else Borla makes.....diagram below!!

I assume both of them are stock mid-pipe cars?

The 04 tips look like Stingers and have their idle, is that what they are?

If so, the GT500 is that much louder catback to catback?

The Shelby is a stock mid pipe car. The Cobra has a MRT 2.5 inch h-pipe with catalytic converters.

The 04 also has Stingers (S-Types).

It appears when I pull the trigger on the frpp’s and pair them to my o/r H that I can expect gobs of volume.

excellent...

I loved the O/R H and stingers on my 99GT.

I had Catless midpipes with the Borla S Types on my ‘11. Started with the mufflers and went catless later. I think the mufflers were a near perfect tone by themselves, however the volume was a bit low for me given that the Shelby is just a weekend car for me. The catless pipes made a minor volume increase at idle and low idle cruising. However at the drop of the throttle, the car screamed. The volume increase was pretty awesome but overall the sound was a little dirty for my liking. It wasn’t terrible by any means, but it was a bit much if I ever wanted to whack the throttle or run a gear out. Inevitably I went with headers and kook’s green hi-flow cat with the s-types and I’m happy with them so far. Still need to get a buddy to take the car for a spin so I can hear it run by though.
