Glad you easily resolved your shifter bolt issue. The project is moving along. What is your finish date goal?

i hope to have it running in a month or so, driving by the summer, and then I'll start on the body work. I want to get her aligned and rolling under her own power before body work because the wheels and tires are a pretty tight fit with the fenders. looks like I'll be rolling them to make the 315's and 275's fit without any rubbing ever.

hopefully it only takes 6 months or so to get the body right since its just a strip and shoot single stage situation. so maybe she'll be done with all the major stuff this time next year?

You are shooting a single stage paint?

Today is the day. Fixing more bad owner mishaps. somebody over tighttened the valve cover bolts at some point so I had to helicoil those things ... on my fresh motor.... so that was nerve racking. But all is well and I finally managed to get the engine back in its home.

Could be due to the MM k member alignment or just a production thing but the JBA header was hitting the right frame rail.
so if you want to run them in a sn95 buyer beware. a little universal wrench application massaged a little dent into the frame rail easily but I had to drop the entire drivetrain out again to get there.

we now have plenty of clearance. the header was JUST almost touching the rail but the motor will move and rubbing on paint is bad. also exhaust being RIGHT on the paint would be suboptimal.

Got the fuel rails and fpr all plumbed. everything is 6AN because good reasons i can explain if anybody cares.
short story: this fuel system is already overkill and 8AN is just more cost with zero benefits for me.

Finally figured out what water pump pulley to get so i could size my power steering delete belt (66 1/8" with tensioner fully extended), fixed my parking brake lever (it had a lot of slop in it from years of use, and got the IRS pumpkin and axles all ready to rock.

Next up I replace the u joint for the driveshaft and bolt that sucker into place, fill it with fluids, get a few odds and ends from autozone and hopefully fire her up.

So lots of work done during quarantine! new parking brake cables, fixed the parking brake lever (it was all wobbly), and installed all the calipers. I've decided I'm going to go ahead and bleed the system/test it for leaks now since i'm waiting on engine parts anyhow. The rotors, pads, and calipers in the rear will be all replaced when i do the front rotors and pads.

I also found out that Moog u joints don't actually fit the t45 yoke and THEN i found out the 97 driveshaft is too long for the t45/IRS combo, which is why 99-01 cobras have shorter driveshafts.... so i guess im ordering one of those soon.

This is the furthest i could get the ujoint in with the opposing clip installed. but at least i learned how to do ujoints.

I also fabbed an alternator bracket from scrap i had laying around.

it follows the arch of the alternator while the stock piece didn't. also, i didn't have the stock piece and this saved me like 50 bucks :D

That's very odd as I ran my 98 driveshaft without any issue. Did you measure the length of the driveshaft to verify it's the stock 97 one? If it helps I can measure mine as well.
