The irony of calling the Tesla gay but then complaining that it doesn’t roll race well. LOL

Right.

All these people used to talk about how racing from a dig was a man’s race and racing from a roll was gay. Yet they bash a car that is supreme from a stop and not great from a roll.

It's not gay because it's just fast at the 1/4. It's because it's a soul-less, noise-less appliance.

That will embarrass fords greatest, loudest, most powerful, fastest, street legal mustang ever at the dragstrip. But hey. Whatever helps you sleep at night. Lol

In all seriousness the Tesla is quick not fast but very quick. It’s a 1 trick pony though. Put it on a track like VIR for a day you may get a few laps out of it before the brakes fade and power gives out. Your day will be short. On the other hand take the gt500 out there you can run all day hard as you want. Then take a pit stop at the expensive ass gas pumps and do it again and again.

its only an embarrassment if you're stupid enough to have your self worth tied up in what you drive.
also, this is kind of like pretty much ANY AWD vehicle running out of steam in its top end and then the fan boys digging their heels in as if that's some kind of benefit. sure, it can dig and you don't have to put gas in it.

but its got the range of a 80's bronco with a hole in the gas tank and costs an arm and a leg.
oh and they're also more ipod than car.

they are replete with downsides. going all schoolgirl crush over them is stupid.

Doesn't bother me, I don't own a GT500. But I know I don't like driving electric cars for enjoyment.

Have you ever driven one?

The instant electric torque and passing power is superior to just about anything.

when they can recharge these in 5 minutes and I can go 400 miles on that charge lets talk but until then its just not for me or most other americans.

Until I see a Tesla get LS swapped something something or another

I don't really know how that was going to play out.

Other than weight loss, how can we get faster teslas?

Anyone thrown another set of Tesla batteries in series and seen what happens?

I’m not a huge fan, but, and this Is off topic. I’ve flipped over to all electric yard shit short of my mower. It preforms the same or better. Yes, I still have gas stuff for heavy duty crap.

Honestly my thoughts are this....i think the performance they are getting is great. Same as when the RC hobby started into lithium batteries and brushless motors. Many, many people went away from gas and nitro. It just made sense, myself included.
I do hope that once the batteries of all these cars start ending their lifecycle the manufacturers have figured out a way to keep replacement battery costs affordable and will have a way to recycle as much as possible.

In an everyday driver i wouldnt mind at all an EV. I think i would miss the noise factor of an ICE as a fun car. Although i have heard some built battery cars that sound awesome from the whine! I think it would be fantastic to offer a hybrid on heavy duty trucks for sure. Man, my 6.0 as a hybrid. Noise, plus torque, plus torque? Lol!

How many miles do you drive a day?

I do 15 miles each way to work, so 30 miles a day. My LR AWD Model 3 has a range of 320 miles at 100%, and 250 at 80%, which is all most people need to charge to for daily use. I can go multiple days and then plug in to my 220V, 24A dryer plug and charge back up to full while I sleep.
Is it the best for trips or very long commutes? No, but it’s plenty for most people and the convenience of charging at home in my garage is fine.
