Yes. I was pretty excited seeing that. Glad He was there. Said some nice things to the racers as well. Some of the guys racing mentioned that it was nice that he was there as well.

The 800ft Air Force 1 flover was probably awesome.
It was amazing on TV. I can only imagine how it was to see it from the seats.

One of the broadcasters said that the atmosphere with day's race was just different, in a positive way. I could feel it thru my TV. And the Beast doing a lap with the crowd screaming support....yeah, baby, go Trump!!

I loved it, watched it on tv. Will watch the race later today due to the rain delay.

President Trump definitely knows how to work his fan base in an election year. As mentioned above, we can only hope for another win in November.

Anybody tired of winning yet......I am not.......that entire T$ event was awesome at Daytona yesterday and my wife really liked it too and she is not a NASCAR fan.

The sport REALLY needed that...... Nascar has been on life support the last few years.

Going to a race is entirely different than watching on TV. 180mph heading into a corner is pretty wild, the rear end drifts slightly each time too. Kinda hairy to watch in person. Super loud too. Not as loud as NHRA, but it's a constant LOUD noise. Especially if it's a while between cautions and the cars get separated a bit.
It's pretty much the largest tailgate party you will ever attend. BYOB in a 20" cooler. That's a lot of beer they allow you to bring in. You can always run out to the car and grab more too.
I don't even really watch the race when I go. I'm usually in a motorhome with the AC on. There's a very large rear window where we can watch the race (and most certainly still hear it) if we want to. I camp up on the "the hill" at NMHS. Our spot is literally less than 15 feet from the safety fence along the track.

I don't watch NASCAR anymore but watched yesterday mostly because of Daytona and T$. My favorite times going to NASCAR races were in the late 80's early 90's even though I started watching NASCAR on Wide World of Sports in 1968. Back in the 60's it was great because they were racing the cars that were available at the dealer. That is where the saying came from "win on Sunday and sell on Monday" for the car manufacturers. Can't apply that for a while now in NASCAR since the cars are pretty much all the same with stickers on them. Its why I don't like today's NASCAR at all.

Went to a few oval speedway tracks and races in the day but my favorite was 10 years straight going to NASCAR at Watkins Glen. It was one big party. No diamond vision big screens back then so you did not see much of the action but a great time to drink and party.....lol.

My dad watched it routinely in the 80s and into the mid 90s. I’d sit and watch as long as my attention span allowed (which wasnt a lot) then I’d head to the bedroom and race my racing champions around my room for hours.

I haven’t been to a race yet (tire testing at Indy before they decided to race there and qualifying at MIS once, both when I was young) but I’d like to make it to one for the party and atmosphere.

My dad introduced me to the sport in 1996 with a trip to MIS. My interest in it goes up and down every few years, but what remains constant is a yearly trip with the guys to Dega in the fall. 2020 will be year 11. You cannot convince me there's a more laid back and better way to spend a weekend with the boys than climbing in the trucks, pulling campers into the grounds after 9 hours, and spending 4 days drinking and catching up. We've made a few great friends as camping neighbors and look forward to the shenanigans every year.

We've seen an evolution in the attendance the last 10 years. Yes, the die hard fans with their 24, 3, and 88 shirts/hats/tats are dwindling, but the younger crowd is embracing race day as what it's best for... partying with a bunch of people while watching loud and fast cars go round. If NASCAR can capitalize on this attraction with enhanced fan experiences, maybe they can save the sport. They'll have to also figure out how to keep the big money TV deals alive as well.

That said, Indy (my home) is not fairing as well, because the racing sucks. We've made the day trip the last 3 years, but are skipping this year because it's July 4th weekend. NASCAR is at least trying the road course on Saturday, which is what we've been saying they need to do for Cup on Sunday. Maybe there's promise for the years to come? That track is just too big and flat for stock cars to really race.

As a 33 year old, I really couldn't care less that I'm not able to go buy these cars on Monday. I want to see the best product and competition possible, with good characters and champions for the sport behind the wheel.

It would have been cool to been at Daytona yesterday with the Prez making an appearance. Dems are losing their mind over it, saying that he's pandering and catering to his base. Last I checked, it wasn't a requirement to be a Republican to attend a race. The race experience is about as American as you can get, and if that's stereotypical for Republicans, then maybe they're doing something "more right". Where would usually find a gathering of 200,000 Democrats? An abortion, tax increases, and gun banning combined march? Doesn't seen very American.

Cliffs: America's great. We love fast cars and beer. Glad a president supported it.

I saw the clip of Air Force one flying low over the track. Pretty damn cool.
