I broke something in the differential about a month ago from doing a dig or either a burnout with traction control on ‍♂️. It makes a clicking noise only when I turn left or right. I’m looking to do digs with the car and was just seeing what’s the best rebuild kit to go with I’m currently running a 3:73 gear. I don’t know anything about rear ends or who to go to I’m a noob so any help is appreciated and links to purchase the parts

Except for gearing options, are there any differences in HP capacity of the rear ends between the 07-12 GT500 and the 13/14? Or even the 05-14 GTs?

‘13-14 has a different pinion bearing I believe.
If you have stock axles I’d probably guess you bent an axle.
If you have the SVTPP, you have a Torsen and they tend to shatter at track launches.
Probably just need to have the whole rear gone thru.
There’s gotta be a good driveline place in NASCAR country?

So you have a Torsen gear driven differential unless you changed it out when you swapped gears.
That’s good for everything but prepped drag strip launches.
I still think you bent a weak known to bend axle.

I’m not sure I bought he car used and spoke to the owner once and he told me it had a 3:73 so I’m not exactly sure unless I take the diff cover off.

The diff cover can actually tell you if you have the cooler lines (SVT track pack coolers only on some SVTPP cars).
It sounds like you need to pay for an inspection/tear down.

Easy to check gears. Your ratio is 3.73:1. Meaning your driveshaft turns 3.73 times to 1 revolution of your wheel. Jack the car up and mark the driveshaft with chalk or tape. Rotate the wheel 1 revolution. I use the valve stem starting at 12 o'clock. Count the number of times the driveshaft turns. That is your gear ratio!
