Got my Cobra out of storage and the CD6 is giving the CD ERROR problem. Am looking at the Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX. Going to have Crutchfield do the harness too. Pretty simple to install on my 03?

It isn't idiot proof, but it is totally doable by anyone with electrical/mechanical ability. If you follow the instructions and take your time it's easy. Crutchfield gives solid instructions and you can call "real people" if you need help.

Easy IF you have the harness made.

Suggest having a USB port cigarette lighter hub on hand so that when you install it you can have your car play hookup hardware on hand. One install gets em both done. I installed mine in the center console.

Am looking to do the install today and am going through the box. There's a GPS sensor, HDMI, a bunch of video inputs, microphone, USB for AC/AA, etc. Did you guys who installed this unit install these items also? If so where did you mount them? My original intention was just to do USB for Android Auto and run that into the center console and cut an opening to mount the USB.

Link to the hub you used? Any pic of the completed install?

You definitely need the microphone. I routed mine under the dash and then mounted it with the supplied clip to the steering column. Android Auto and Apple Car play only work with a wired connection, so you need to run a long cable into the arm rest or use a USB hub like others have recommended. Given the short life of Lightning cables, I wish I had gone the hub route.

I ran my microphone up inside the A-pillar and mounted it to the sunvisor with the supplied bracket. Works great there and you hardly notice it. I mounted the GPS antenna at the middle-back of the parcel shelf. It works great there as well and is barely noticeable. I had the interior gutted at the time so it was easy to run the wire for the GPS antenna, which was just (an I mean just) long enough to fit.

Did you guys retain factory Ford Mach system? I've found that with this new headunit, the bass is punchy. What tuning did you guys do to make this sound better? What are your EQ, Subwoofer cutoff settings, anything else you had good luck with?

I'm in the process of installing a pioneer w4500nex. Im super confused cause the metra instructions for the harness says to put the rca plugs into the subwoofer inputs on the receiver. I plan on hooking up a after market sub as well in the future. Am I going to have to purchase a rca y splitter to accomplish this? Also does any one know where to plug the speed sensor wire? I would just leave it unplugged but I read it has to be hooked up fore my wireless apple car play to work.

Use a Metra 70-5511 harness. No need to use the RCAs in the back of the radio.
