I also thought the rear was not great until I saw the car in person. The photos don’t do it any justice. Even tho I would prefer round tail lights on a Vette I think the rear looks great in
Person.

This is also the base model vette. A c8z will be more aggressive, I’m sure.

now that we’re over the aesthetics, let’s talk performance. I don’t think the c7 will come close.

Maybe you guys should sell your cobras for some Saleens, since you’re more concerned with looking fast, than actually going fast.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing

Looks like they took the cabin and shifted it forward. Made the body lines more aggressive, and added a bit of 2020 to it. By itself, the C8 did not look awfully related but I see they did draw inspiration from the C7 now.

My C7 Grand Sport won’t be going anywhere, anytime soon. I don’t want a base Vette nor do I want to deal with the inherent first year problems and parts shortages to alleviate them on the C8.

Aside from 0-60, there isn't a ton of performance difference.

.9 seconds between a C8 Z51 and a C7 Z51 on a 2 minute track, the C7 was on a narrower run flat tire as well.

Jim Mero was pretty open about them being able to hit the performance metrics with the FR setup.

I think the C8 looks good. I don't like the rear but it's certainly not offensive. I really want to drive one on track to see if I hate the brakes as much as other brake by wire setups.

I personally am digging the look of the C8 and while I really would love to have a C8Z I likely would be very happy with a C8GS in my garage

One of the big improvements with the C8 platform over previous gens is they are able to achieve comparable handling performance with far less aggressive wheel/tire/suspension setups, resulting in a MUCH better overall ride. Even with the MR shocks, the C7's had a pretty bad street ride, and the at the limit feel was always sketchy.

We are in the very early stages of the C8. You can bet your bottom dollar that any future HiPo variant's will crush their previous generations.

Just shows how much nicer the C8 is and how out dated the C7 is.

Totally agree!

The dealerships around here have tons of C7Z's in stock and are asking around $20K off MSRP. No idea how much less they would actually accept. The dealer I went into last week had 9 Z's in the showroom alone. Gotta admit, I was liking what I saw.

Until these pics showing the side by side profile ruined it for me. Love the C8 look.

Basically how every Corvette has been for the last 4 generation.

C8 killed the C7, which killed the C6, which killed the C5, which killed the C4 for me.

C2 - C3 is basically the only "backwards" move on the Corvette. (C3.5 was awful)

I still think the C7 is a gorgeous car. Way better looking than the C8 in my opinion.

I just can’t wait to see how quickly someone throws boost of some sort at the C8 and how it pans out.

Loving the C8. Tje black one in the pics looks like the wheels are too small though, for some reason.
