Yeah. DSG is my favorite Terminator color. Based on everything listed and the price I say it's a great buy.

Just have it checked mechanically to ensure there are no motor problems or leaks or charging problems (ad lists extra alternator. That's not a spare part most keep on hand). Car is 17 years old now and 75K miles really isn't that bad. However, it will need some TLC. So, be prepared for that. If it checks out mechanically I would buy it. Looks like it was not really messed with.

What's a fair offer?

I bought my 03 SM Vert with 76K miles on it in 2016 for $16K. It was in a very similar condition. To be honest I think 17K is a very fair asking price for a coupe in DSG, that condition and those miles.

However, you need to find out it's mechanical condition and see how motivated the seller is. Make an offer you feel is fair and see what the owner says or counters with.

Depends on how prepared you want to be. It is an issue with these cars. I have two in my garage that will get rebuilt and put on the shelf just in case.

True Bob. But, the two you have on the shelf are not brand new waiting to go in. You have them on the shelf because they went out and you are going to rebuild them, which is a great idea.

When mine go out I'm going to have my factory alternator rebuilt. I'm not going to buy a J2Fab or any other aftermarket. I've had good luck with my factory units, so going to stick with them.
