I’ll be in Las Vegas for the NADA convention in a couple of weeks. What are some must do things, recommended places to eat, best shows, etc? This is my first trip to Vegas and I’ll be there with my wife. I only really have maybe two days that aren’t tied up with work events.

Hit up the Shelby museum , its right off the Strip. And then across the street is Town Square. Good eats and shopping for the wifey.

Our favorite shows were Cirque O and the Beetles Love. Zumanity is good too if shes down for that.

Prime @ Bellagio for a great steak (bullshit some kind of special occasion and request fountain view seating) or tom colicchio's herritage. Tom Colicchio's had some of the best lobster I've ever had (steak was excellent as well) but I dont get the concept of the place... paintings of cows and the music was all over the place, there was even Linkin Park playing at some point, Prime is a much better atmosphere with the wife.

Bobby Flay's Mesa in Ceasar's Palace has an amazing goat cheese fundido among other things. This is more of a lunch place though

Im not a pasta person but Giada's place was VERY good.

You have to walk through Bellagio and see the glass work over the lobby area and then just around the corner they usually have some kind of big themed flower display.

If you want to see the Hoover Dam just rent a car and go, you can leave after breakfast and be back by lunch if you just do the quick tour. The tour guide places make it an all day thing

I was out there in November for work training/ weekend getaway with my wife. I rented a jeep wrangler from fox rent a car for like $23/day and drove to the hoover damn and did the paid longer damn tour one day( which was incredible and definitely worth it) and drove out to the mountains and dessert the next. There's trails all over the place you can just pull off the highway and drive out in the dessert and if you go to red rock canyon and pay to do the scenic drive there is a mountain pass road you can take way back in the mountains and get some incredible views. If you get real ambitious there's marked trails to go up into the mountains but i was worried about doing that by myself in a rental. For night life you have to hit up Fremont, one big party every night.

Delmonico's Steak house, hands down the best steak I've ever had.

Personally, the Grand Canyon is the best part of going to Vegas for me. But I could careless about the shows, gambling and clubs.

Las Vegas Rock Crawlers. I did the 3 hour Nellis Apex tour. Modded Jeeps on 40’s going through dried river beds and some sand dunes. Exotics Racing. I got to run a Lamborghini Huracan Performante. It was a BLAST. I don’t gamble, but did manage to blow a lot of money while out there for 3 days.

I get to vegas 6-8 times a year. I’ve done it all over the years.

IMO since you are with your wife:

Concerts: Raiding the rock vault-60’s, 70’s, and 80’s rock hits played by 80’s rock legends. Voted best on Tripadvisor 6 years running and well deserved.

Comedy: Carrot Top. Funny as ****, was a hater before i saw him. Close second is Ron White if he’s in town.

Magic: Criss Angel. Was a hater as well....got free tix and his act is the best by far. Shin Min and Matt Franco are a close second. Dont waste your coin on anyone else. Seriously.

Food: Tons of ****ing great options already mentioned, so i’ll add that Giada’s place is great. Beef Wellington at Gordon Ramseys in Paris hotel is epic. For a buffet you cannot beat Ceasars Baccanal or Aria’s. For breakfast Mon Ami Gabi at Paris is absolutely ****ing excellent. Dont miss it.

Shelby museum is badass

The pinball hall of fame is killer.

Cirque de soleil: O at the bellagio or the beatles love is cool. The end of KA is ****ing badass. I wont ruin it in case you see it.

New york new york has the dueling piano bar which is always a good time, and the center bar is damn good there as well.

Bellagio fountains and blown glass/conservatory is cool.

Hoover Dam

Grand Canyon Tour

Scorpion shots at Nacho Daddy’s

Downtown is fun but a shithole as well.

Have fun and let us know what you did.

Bellagio buffet was waaayyy over rated. Nasty IMO and not worth the $100.

Counts, Welderup, and Shelby are all cool, but my favorite was Ricks restoration. Pay the extra for the tour. Pawn stars was a let down.

Go downtown one night to Fremont street...it’s like a blend of Vegas and Mardi Gras.

Ive stayed at Aria a couple times and done the buffet there, while it is good I don't think I'd go out of my way for it when you're only there for 2 days.

A vendor took me to the Gran Canyon on a helicopter tour with Maverick (where you actually land in the canyon) and it was pretty awesome, $ but awesome.

Agreed about the buffets. I hate buffets, but in a pinch for food over the years i’ve tried most of them. Ceasars is number 1, Arias is a distant 2nd, but buffets as whole suck to me.

Your money is better spent at one of the specialty kickass eats all over the city.

Blue Man Group is awesome. I also enjoyed the Jabbawockeez, but I'm sure that's a limited interest. We've hit up Ramsey's Burger for lunch. Last time we were there for Celine Dion my cousin treated us to dinner at Tom Colicchio's. The food was awesome. Next time we go we want to hit up Brad Garrett's comedy club.

We've been to Vegas a lot, have a trip planned for April.

You're going to be overwhelmed, my only suggestion is to stay central on the strip, like Flamingo or Caesars and be sure to UBER down to Fremont street early in the evening and be prepared to hang for the night. Good times.

Good suggestions so far but definitely do the high roller, get the open bar option if you feel like getting boozed up.

Besides what everyone said, just walk the strip and peek your head into the big casinos. Since you've never been inside them the gaming floors are pretty cool. It's not the nicest place the but the Luxor is cool to see because it's a big open air pyramid.
