I dunno, I just think it's never going to be a real contender without a V8 in it... o_O

It does seem that way like it wants to keep going. It sounds great but I am actually surprised it doesnt seem louder in the video.

Whats your thoughts Ben?

It sounds awesome in person. The shifts echoed across the track and off the walls (it was quite cool actually) and we measured >107dB during flyby's. Inside the car it's less loud (all the sound's pointed backward) and there are a lot of turbo noises. It's delightful.

Regarding lap times - figure about 8 sec/lap faster than the GT2RS. I found the current production car lap record for this configuration on, ah, the internet :) and the MK2 is 7 sec/lap faster.

@treynor After you got a few laps in, and I know its a shakedown, but how did the car feel handling wise? The car is absolutely beautiful by the way. That last video it looked like the car was walking a little bit on you in the turns, I assume you still have plenty of adjustments to make?

The mk2 looks way more planted and stable in the corners.

Ben is that your F1 buddy driving the Senna? It doesn't look like your driving style.

Saw on at the Barret-Jackson this past weekend. Was very sexy. Was hard to believe how great the "regular" GT was but man the MkII was even better.

Exactly. The Multimatic guys had set the car up for stability, seeing as it was the mk2's debut weekend and there was a lot of pressure - having a wrecked car from an overeager client was not how they hoped to launch this car! However, after they saw that I can actually drive :) they dialed in some more neutral handling and I was adapting to its new-found willingness to rotate when I set my fastest lap in the morning (cold air, etc.) It was never evil at all, and even when the back end came around it was eminently controllable. Super, super fun car.

That was me driving. The Senna is not what I'd call a beginner car, although the electronics keep things mostly in check. I also had only 8 laps on it (ever) when I set that time; after that I got faster but the tires fell off.

Well it's cold here in FL, about 45 or so when I drove home tonight. The Fiesta ST loves this nice weather, and I finally got a 75% run through a really weird/crazy offramp I take. Easily went in and through at double the posted speed. I was smiling ear to ear.

...and then I thought about your video with your new GT and how that must be 1,000% more fun and I was sad. LOL

Heh. I grin ear to ear hooning my Raptor through the twisties. It's all about the satisfaction of getting as much as you can from the vehicle you're in.
