58*F is nothing compering to East coast tracks when they run in mid 30's
Amazing... Just a couple of decades ago, the only thing driven to the track and clicked off these times and trap speeds was a Hayabusa.

Lol they weren't even doing that on the stock crappy good years.
Not as impressive as a manufacturer provided high oct tune, front skinny tires, manufacturer seat deletes and a lot of VHT....all off the showroom floor stock by the way.
They cant tune the trans. So they are massively limited there.
As more and more comes available with the controller and soon, the TCM, the GT500 is going to really start moving out with simple mods. Ford really hit a home run with this combo. It's potent!
You’re correct, it really isn’t the same since if the GT500 brakes the owner will foot the bill while the demon owner takes car to dealer no problems.
that said the GT500 even with bolt ons and tune is very impressive. Most open minded people can see how impressive each one is in their own merit.
It now has been a best of 9.70 at 144mph.

Not many RWD cars out there that can run 9.70 @ 144mph on non drag radial/slick tires . Car is on hard sidewall 315/30/20 Toyo R888R road race tire
What part are we looking closely at? The fact that it is a true coupe there?
to be fair, most people don't bother trying.
Generally if you have a 900 whp car, you go to the track on a tire that will work. I'm still somewhat confused by why they'd do all this to get 900 hp then run it on a barely adequate tire?
I'll be honest, I'm sure we could take our Redeye out and run an easy 9.7 (pulley/e85 only) on an R888, but why?
No interest in the 'world record for fastest sticky non drag tire'...
