Would have been worse had the Z been able to start in second. That Z has walked GT2 RS’s and 720S’ easily. Still a lot left in it too. With some E85/Meth and more boost, they will make over 1000rwhp. 500 is still badass for such a heavy car.

As I said in another thread, until there are blower inlet and 100+mm TB options for the 500, it will be “limited” to the power numbers we’ve already seen. TCM tuning will only help at the strip allowing it to launch better.

And for the love of god, paddle response time is not the same as transmission shift time. The 8L90 and 10L90 shift just as fast as a DCT when left in auto mode.

And

Corvette is 8 millisecs faster then a Porsche....which seems to be around 50ms.

Best I can find anyway.

So in theory...the chev may shift faster.

Anyone else have any luck finding shift times?

That ZR1 is bad ass, but it is racing against cars that aren't putting down the same power. So it looks impressive that its beating more expensive cars, but the ZR1 has a lot done to it. Also last I checked that LMR1000 package is almost 20k.

GT500 did good considering its weight, being new, and not having 20k put it into. LOL

In all honesty, LMR is severely overpriced and the same mods could be had for cheaper at other shops. Sadly due to the “locked” ECU it cost 4-5k just to tune a C7 ZR1 as a new ECU needs to be purchased and HP Tuners has the market on lock, no pun intended.

For reference sake, LMR charges 10k for a cam package. That is several K more than a lot of quality shops charge. LMR is the type of shop that dudes with money say I want XXX HP with no questions asked.

Sadly a cam is necessary on the Gen 5 LT motors with DI unless you want to use meth for additional fueling. There is a lobe on the cam that actuates the HPFP. Aftermarket cams command 32-38% more fuel depending on manufacturers.

The ZR1 ONLY HAS cam, tune, pulley, and tire. Is this true or not??

The vette is not faster/better than the PDK.

Nobody will go 20-24# because they don’t want to risk the $20k trans.
Still, that Predator engine/blower package can run 1000rwhp, but I’ve yet to see anyone with the ball$$$$ to try it thru the DCT on the strip or road.

I got the chev info directly off the chev website stating it shifts faster then porsche.

I could not find a direct link to Porsche time though. But supposedly most suggest it to be in the 50ms range.

I mean they can put 20-24# thru it on the dyno and we know it’ll make over 1000rwhp but it’s not the same.
That car has a MT82 not DCT and they don’t race it, it’s just a show/development piece.
We’ve heard rumors of Lund’s car showing some trans or clutch slip, but nothing publicly verified

Ya i just want to see full send on the motor. Lets find the limit.

When you think back alot of guys swapped transmissions in previous gen 500’s so i wouldn’t be surprised to see the same with this one.

Is there a pro driver saying Chevy is faster/better than pdk?
