Thank you Nick and Mike Anderson

I'm thankful for the opportunity to have purchased my 2020 GT500 from you. Yesterday was a great day.

For anyone here that doesn't know Nick, his family runs a Ford dealership in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. I had the pleasure of meeting Nick and his father there yesterday and left with an Oxford White beast. I'm still a zombie after spending more than a day traveling there and back to Upstate, NY. I was in a hurry to beat some nasty weather and it somehow worked as planned. I'll share more after some cognitive function returns but this was how it played out in a nutshell.

The car was manufactured a couple of months ago at the Flat Rock plant.

Once produced, it sat there for about a month. It finally shipped via railcar to the Voltz yard in Missouri where it then had a "Hold" placed on it from Ford meaning it would be a prisoner there for some time. After another month of sitting, Nick was successful in getting mine and another member's car out of there and to his dealership. Shots from the prison yard...

I planned on flying in and driving home some time ago but the delays here pushed me from November to the end of December to mid January. Mother nature had to cooperate as there was no way I was driving home (1,000 miles from MO to NY) in snow or on ice. I saw a two day window where temps looked to be either right at freezing or slightly above so I quickly got a ticket and flew out yesterday, early in the morning. When I landed there was snow on the ground at the airport but some afternoon sun turned much of it to water. Anyway, it was a good day, albeit a long one. Nick and his father made it one of the most enjoyable buying experiences of my lifetime.

Perfect read with my morning cup of coffee. Good luck with your surgery!
I feel better about switching to Oxford......but damn, that Rapid Red......

At this point, I don't miss the TR6060 at all.

This is the main regret I have of selling my '14 GT500; will I miss rowing gears? I'm not at all upset about the new DCT and I know it's the cats ass, I just wonder if part of me (the nostalgic part) will miss making crisp shifts down a long, straight, well-paved road in cool air.

Regardless, I can't wait to order a new GT500.

All this time I'm thinking your dad was Chuck. So Chuck is Mike's father, your grandfather, yes?

My bad Nick. I still think you have the coolest dad in the world. You guys run one heck of an operation out there.

Haha yeah. Grandpa is Chuck. Started the store in 1974. He resides in Palm Springs December through May. When he's in town, he'll come hang out for a few hours 2 or 3 days a week.

Thanks for all of the kind words Tob.

White seems to be the most popular color by far. Seems like everyone is getting non track pack cars too. Looks good, enjoy.

Tob, did nick try to arrange any transport for you? Like having ford ship it to a local Ford dealer based off his allocation or a transport company? This does not sound like a good experience. I get the excitement of a new GT500 but did I read correctly you smoked a full size raccoon in Missouri on the way back in your new GT500 while listening to Motown after pimp smacking yourself?

Glad your beast was finally released Tob. Let the dis-assembly begin. If you need someone to flog it on the track for you, I'm available and you know my number. ;)
Partial disassembly underway to inspect and clean. Working on developing a caliper stud for this Shelby too as the knuckle bores look to be about .090" deeper than the GT350 knuckle. Waiting on prototypes from my man Curtis in Mooresville. And when we meet up again at the Glen the keys are yours but I get to ride along.:)

There were some thread polls I've seen where Rapid Red, Orange, and black looked to be more popular than Oxford White. But you're onto something as I too have noticed a heck of a lot of white cars lately. As to the majority getting base cars, no doubt due to limited CFTP availability and price. I wanted one but bailed when I saw how much of a $truggle it was going to be to get one.

The plan from the outset was to be able to shake Nick's hand and to see the heartland on the way home. I've been everywhere in the country but the midwest. But the constant delays pushed this car into the cold season and once it was produced it was way too late for a courtesy delivery which Nick would have done if I had asked in time - so that was totally on me. Regardless, I shook hands and got to see everything at night.;)

I hit the raccoon in silence. THUD. No radio playing, face had yet to be slapped, and I was only about 15-20 miles from Nick's dealership.

Got it! I was referring to the post sale driving experience portion of the trip. Transportation is expensive and enclosed even more so. Glad to know these can vaporize anything in their path! Gorgeous GT500, great sale experience, and what a journey home! Looking forward to seeing you post updates and need more pictures!

Shipping isn't that expensive. About $0.85/mile open, or $1.50/mile enclosed.

Something I forgot to address. The gentleman Nick tasked with prepping the car did a superb job. Nick introduced me to him and I could tell right away he was a seasoned veteran. On the subject of how the GT350 splitters were universally installed incorrectly - mine was wrong on my GT350 and I ended up reinstalling it as well as an R splitter later, so I knew exactly what was involved. I felt much better at Anderson Ford knowing it would be done right the first time. When I mentioned this to Nick's mechanic (I apologize for forgetting his name) he pointed out to me that the GT500 splitter used all screws and no pushpins. The half moon clips are no longer used either. So when it comes to varmints boinking off of it at speed I'm quite a bit more confident with it over the setup used on the GT350.

Major Congrats TOB! The car looks great.

Very happy for you buddy!
Looking forward to hearing your ongoing reviews and mods.
I’m hoping to join the family by ordering my next car from Nick this year.
SVTP will now be a better place.
And man, you just convinced me to order that cover!
