There's a weight for the CFTP car, they got it at 4059lbs.

SP's car was 4080# so only 21lbs lighter with CF wheels, basically both versions weigh practically the same.

It depends how much fuel was actually in the cars during weigh in. Those carbon wheels are shedding off more than 21 lbs.

Also, I was looking at Z 1LE prices a couple of weeks back, those arent 72k cars, they are more like 65k or less. The dealers cant sell em, probably because they are too track focused, harsh ride for the street.

Did some digging, those carbon wheels are 17lbs. each same as 350R wheels and being 1" larger diameter. There was an article C&D did about Carbon Revolutions updating their manufacturing of these wheels and making them lighter as they get better at making them with better procedures.

C&D publishes their test cars weights with full tanks so 4059 is full tank. SP video showing 4080 was low fuel (dash showing the needle about 2-3mm above the E on the gauge).

So, let's say SP's car has 3 gallons left in the tank (1 gallon of gas weighs 6.15lbs), full tank is 16 gallons so add another 80lbs to his 4080 and we are at 4160.

Base car - CFTP car weight = 101 lbs.

Other than the wheels what else is lighter on the TP car? A premium forged alum wheel 20x11" is around 25lbs (my Forgeline rear wheels for my 13 GT500 weigh that) so CF wheel on 2020 500 is 8 lbs. lighter. I'm sure the stock base alum 500 wheel is heavier than the afkt forged wheels but I don't think they are 25lbs heavier per corner than CF wheels to make up the 100 lbs. difference between the cars. Maybe Cup 2 tires are lighter than PS4S tires that one I don't know. The difference in weight between the CF rear spoiler and base rear spoiler is probably not that much maybe a couple pounds diff between the two.

The CFTP wheels are 17lbs. The wheels on the non CFTP are 36lbs a piece.

CFTP also comes with a rear seat delete. I’d say about 40+/-lbs.

the difference between a CFTP car and a non CFTP car (with all other options being the same) is about 120lbs. CFTP cars being the lighter ones.

What a deal for $18k
I’d rather buy new gym equipment and procrastinate on losing weight.

Handling wise CFTP 500 > ZL1 1LE > 500
Acceleration CFTP 500 > 500 > ZL1 1LE
Best all around performer 500
Best bang for the buck ZL1

Wish they would have done a track time.

Still don’t understand their acceleration numbers. GT500 is ahead by .3 at 100mph and nearly 4 secs at 150. But they get only tenth difference in 1/4???? Which is 130 plus mph mark.

They couldn't launch the gt500, but the trap is 8mph higher so the gt500 is easily the faster car. Curious what the top speed is.

It would be mechanically limited by gear ratio at 190 in 5th regardless and you would bounce off the limiter so it had to be limited at <190.

WHOOOHOOO!!! Finally, my *favorite* topic!

I think we need an ex-pro done comparison before submitting.

I _told_ you guys the A10 ZL1 1LE was no joke. Those things run over Mustangs at VIR on a regular basis. They are basically Z06s in a Crapmaro body.

I'll also posit that GT500s on public roads (e.g. no VHT, no-prep) will not be turning in sub 11ohs, but that is also my IMHO.

Maybe there can be a CFTP option that doesn't have the carbon fiber wheels but has the tires and everything else?

That the main reason to go with the CFTP, IMO.

Those wheels are a HUGE advantage.
