Hey guys,

Well...after about a year or so of not really being able to enjoy my car, due to some inspection issues, i finally bit the bullet and returned to stock and got my sticker. In 2022 itll be emissions exempt, but im going to cross that bridge when i get there.

This spring ive got a laundry list of things i want to do to my car, biggest being finally installing my C&R heat changer and re-pullying my car. Im debating if i want to re-install my O/R X pipe or not.

One of the bigger things im really contemplating is upgrading to the VMP twin 67mm throttle body. I was going to hold off on doing this until i just do the entire blower swap, either the TVS 2300 or Gen 2 or 2R. If i could manage to find a lightly used throttle body on here for around $400ish, is it a worth while investment? Can i see some decent gains?

I figure the budget to upgrade my blower is going to have to be $2500. If i can pick up some decent gains with the throttle body for now, maybe ill just save some money before doing the entire swap.

My car also has the original fuel filter from 2006-2007 in it with just under 12k miles, but before i bought the car it sat a lot. Would it be advantageous to replace it with an OEM filter or am i just overthinking? And i know alot of people replace plugs religiously on these cars. I put in NGK TR7's at approx 6k miles when i did my pulley/intake install gapped at .028 (? i believe) but i dont spend any time at the track really. Just my summer fun, spirited drive car. Should i replace my plugs again?

Well, I had the mods in my signature but still with the stock TB until about 6 or 7 weeks ago when I added the FRPP twin 65mm TB. I didn't dyno before and after, but the seat-o-the pants meter definitely improved. The VMP 67 is recommended by my tuner I think you will like it. Good luck on finding 1 for $400 though.

Replace the filter. It's easy enough to do and then you won't have to wonder.

well, ive gotten in deep with some concerns about doing my heat exchanger. I got to doing some research and found all of Dept. of Boost's research about how dual fans are basically pointless. Now im questioning my stuff that i plan to install. Ive got a standard C&R dual pass heat exchanger that i was going to do with the 170* thermostat.

Dept of Boost is having their new Super Single come out just before spring and now im wondering if i should just run that in turn with upgrading to the 13/14 IC pump. If i dont go with the Dept of Boost exchanger, would anyone recommend taking the fans off of the one i have and running it with the pump upgrade and calling it done?

Im only going to be running a 2.5 upper pulley which equates to 13psi. It sounds like to be the most cooling efficient i would need the Dept of Boost Super Single, 170* t stat, 13/14 pump and the J2 fab cooling mod.

There is just so much info on this stuff that i had not read into. I dk if im digging too deep and overthinking for what im going to be running. The end goal for me is to eventually have a TVS swap with 2.4 upper.

ended up taking me most of the day on saturday to get my HE installed, i hit every possible snag, plus i cut and created the degas bypass mod on the fly instead of removing the tank etc. Because i am running the stock overflow tank, i didnt realize i was going to run into a tight situation on the outlet of the tank...i ended up having to run a 90* hose off of the outlet, into a T and plumbed the hose down to the Pierburg pump on the driver side frame rail. It ended up working out okay. Once i got that done i pretty much sailed to the end.

Initially i had gotten a bunch of air into the system (like an asshat ugh) but i was able to fill the tank, jumper the pump, and burp the exchanger via removing the outlet hose. I was worried because i wasnt seeing a huge increase in fluid moving through the tank, just a steady flow with microbubbles. but ive read that this is normal and im not seeing any large bubbles coming through. Is it possible i could have air still in the intercooler?

Im going to take the car to get a new sticker on tuesday and ill monitor my IAT's and check the reservoir after a short drive, i would think the car moving and pushing the fluid through the system will further remove any air.

pic attached of the pump mounting/hose plumbing!
