Is there a list of the all the offsets that fit? I got my brakes on today only to discover that my wheels rub. It looks like I'll need a 3/8 spacers to clear. Not bad but if the wheels poke out a lot, I'll be annoyed

hmmm... One of my calipers rubbed the first time I took off the wheel adjusted it and bolted it back down. This may be an issue with the insert kit as I prefer not to use one and was able to readjust my calipers to fit.

Wheels are going to depend highly on what method is used to attach the calipers to the spindles. Seems there are a few different methods in play.

I can only speak from my experience but my first version of the inserts did not clear 17" wheels. The caliper hit the barrel of the rim and did not allow it to bolt up. Wasn't even close. I imagine this would be similar if you were to modify/redrill the spindle and use the M14 bolts in the original inserts. 18" wheels should clear fine.

Once I made Rev 2 with a 3mm drop, it would clear the barrel of the 17" wheels perfectly with 1-1.5mm to spare. However spoke clearance was the next issue (and this is common to the 2000 Cobra R's as well).

The only 17x8 wheel I tried that cleared was the 98 Cobra wheel. This was only with the caliper inserts that featured the 3mm drop. I believe these are the only 17x8 that cleared the 00R calipers as well.

The 17x8 bullitts, 99/01 Cobra and 94-97 Cobra wheels I tried did not have enough spoke clearance. I would need to run a spacer to mount them up fine.

My interference is between the bottom center protruding section of the caliper body and my spokes. I ordered spacers, we'll see if the poke is too much and if I have enough thread engagement. I'm looking at needing about 5/16 of an inch after milling the calipers.

Update: The BBS wheels don't fit even with a 3/8" spacer. Does anyone know if Saleen 5 stars fit?

with the 94-97 cobra wheels do you know how big of a spacer would be needed?

I was looking back through this thread and on post #194 you posted (2.3” from rotor face to outside face of Caliper (this is your spoke clearance dimension))
with that in mind I measured a 97 cobra rim from the hub surface to inside of the spoke and it ended up being 1.222 so 2.300-1.222=1.078
The attached photo is how i measured it. I subtracted the thickness of the square (.087) from the total measurement so it would be hub to spoke.

I needed a 3/4" spacer to clear. I'm in search of new wheels. Does anyone have Saleen 5 stars and can measure them for me?

I am doing this upgrade on my 83 notch that is factory V8, will my power brake booster still work with this upgrade? If not can someone recommend one that will. Some people have said to use the 93 Cobra booster, but everywhere I look it is out of stock.

@Mustang5L5 is the one to answer this question as he has dealt with the older setups much more than I have.

Does anyone know if the right and left calipers are universal? Looks like you just flip bleeder screws and plugs to make caliper fit the other side.

Cj, there is a left and right part number.
I'm no expert but I've been around 2 different fixed calipers like this and they could both be flipped from one side to the other by switching plug and bleeder.

The reason I ask is I've found a few sellers on eBay selling brand new gm ats pass side calipers loaded with clips and pads for less than most pay for the bare caliper.

They appear to be the same to me. I haven't taken the caliper apart and seen the internals. I got my set from Scroggins Dickey also.
