If the GT500 owner is getting e85, pulley and cat deletes then Lund has pretty much shown what type of gains can be made. As pointed out the DCT is the weak link and the graph is already showing the TCM is limiting torque output HARD!

Damn. I was honestly expecting it to be a closer race. Interesting.

No surprise here as most bolt-on pullied Hellcats on E85 make around 900rwhp . lightweight front skinnies and rear 17s make a pretty big difference too vs factory 20's

I think the new gt500 is a great all around vehicle, but I don't think big power is what the cars intension is.

Certainly capable of big HP, but the car will lose its all around abilities.

Idk why I expected it to do better, especially against the Camaro.

As expected. Similar weight, no real advantage with trans as the A8 is stout, hellcat has likely close to 150whp more. It served as a good Baseline for possible reruns.

The Hellcat Challenger and Redeye are just straight muscle cars. BEAST!
I LOVE the front end of these cars. The rear end isn't so bad as well. Just not keen on the side profile for some reason.
The Redeye getting a stock factory killer chiller set up just shows that Dodge is out to take names on the drag strip. Awesome stuff.

Didnt think the GT500 looked fast before meeting up with the Hellcat. We need some stock vs stock videos though

I wouldn't feel too bad about the ZL1 keeping up with the GT500, he said it was a fully built car.

Cracks me up. This is a bone stock, 93 tuned GT500. All other cars have pulleys and such. Have you seen res delete E85 Lund tuned car pulling 830 RWHP. That would have been a very different race. Just wait boys and girls, the new GT 500 will hurt a lot of feelings.

The DCT is only rated at like 650-675lb ft hence the low factory torque rating on the 500. Most manufacturers don’t use DCT’s in heavier high Hp cars for that very reason. They use a torque converter auto.

Look at Audi for example. Light weight, low torque R8 gets a DCT and they use an 8spd auto in the heavy, high torque RS7. Audi even admits as such.

The DCT will be the 500’s Achilles in high HP applications. Torque converter autos are more than capable nowadays and shift just as fast as a DCT when left in auto mode. It’s honestly more of a marketing ploy similar to the FPC in the 350. The heads, valvetrain and intake manifold play more of a role in its power production than a FPC with a bunch of weight added to offset the vibration issues.

Still might grab a 500 this summer if I can get a good deal as I don’t care about modding anymore.

Ford pulled a chevy with this car, they clearly built it with the CFTP and magazine lap times in mind. For a stock car its incredibly impressive all around but I cant see the potentials being higher than the mopars for drag racing and its potential will never exceed corvette on the road course. Its a jack of all trades master of none. And the DCT will make it cost prohibitive for the majority of car guys, especially with no warranty. Id rather have the manual/A10 options.

Heavy Gtrs are doing fine even at 2000hp. But yes they wont handle any good Power stock and also gona be big money to build one
