All good....that was my point....your TVS and my 4.2 are going to feel just as nasty on the street....I broke 2 CJ cranks at 1000hp....there not cheap but a Bryant or Winberg crank is basically a piece of artwork.....definitely not the weak link anymore...

You could definitely go big KB or Whipple at this point, but to me that causes hood clearance issues and may harm the crank (mine is a stock/CJ crank that is dual keyed).

Just curious but what makes the KB/Whipple harder on the crank over a TVS?

Interesting tidbit in VMP's Burnout box today. 2018 GT with the newly released Odin blower (2.65) went 8.75 @ 161.3 on it 1st pass down the track. YMMV

Time slip shot @ 7:18 in the video.

Many guys, as soon as they step up to the bigger 3+L blowers starting breaking cracks.
I can think of J. Texeira 1320 Junkie and others.
S. Erikson above mentioned breaking two cranks, would be interesting to know if one was with a TVS.
That’s the reality, once you’re over 1200hp, lots of things change, mainly sleeving the block and upgrading the crank.
The smaller TVS blowers don’t seem to have this issue, so to me and my goals with the car in keeping the stock block and crank; maximizing a TVS2650 seems the best choice.
The fact that a maximized TVS2650 can make 1200hp should be all 99% of us need.
For the 1% that need more, 4L KBs and Whipples kick ass.

Thanks for the info and explanation. I was curious since mine has the 3.6L KB on it so your comment caught my attention. Knowing that, I might be looking more in to that upcoming J2Fab piece to help the crank out.

I broke one on a Maxed out Trinity....15% lower and 2.2 upper on Meth....the snout cracked on that one.....the second one was with a 3.4....same 15% lower with a 3" upper on Meth.....that one looked perfect but the machine shop checked it out and it had multiple cracks in the journals....switched to the Bryant and added the 4.2.....best mod to date....

Is this why the 2020 GT500 has a slipper clutch thingy behind the pulley? To act as a buffer to lessen stress on the crank?
Good question and possibly, but I think it’s more for NVH and to save the blower and belt stresses.
Would be good to talk to ask an FP or Eaton engineer, but I’ve always heard the clutched pulleys (from experience on my older AMG and current Hellcat) protect the SC not the motor.

Did you say 2.2 upper? Yeah I guess that is maxing it!
I currently run a 15% and 2.4
The bigger blowers do cause more stress but rpm is also the killer. Under boost these engines like the rev and even when kicking the clutch and shifting, there’s mechanical over rev that’s going to always happen, it’s physics. Over 7200 you’ll always have some degree of crank flex, and the solution is the big money cranks.
Roughly how much did the Bryant run you? $4k range?

Bryant crank was $3800 5 years ago....not sure what they are running now....plan ahead...Bryant and Winberg are typically 10-12 weeks out....I had the 2.2 specially made and ran a triple nozzle meth setup....kinda made my own E-85.....lol.....24 degrees of timing and 26lbs on 92 pump...lol...seems kinda crazy now but it worked....
