I idle long enough with the hood open to see the intercooler tank start whirling.....I have a data reader at all times, and it has a PID for the intercooler pump SCIPC: 1 active 2 inactive. I relied on that and use to never think about it, until one day I saw my IAT2 climb to 175 just while cruising. I was like WTF? PID says 1 active.

Pulled the car over and sure as sheet the IC tank was not flowing. So the PID is nothing but a dummy light just simply indicating the computer has told it to run.....but thats not a guarantee it is. I jumped the IC box with a wire and the pump started flowing, so I got lucky and only needed a new relay. $10 back working. But lesson learned. I check before leaving the garage every single time.

I always start it and let it warm up for a few minutes, at least 5-10 minutes. I also give everything a check. Usually give it a quick wipe down and ready to roll.

If it is cold out, the car will sputter, backfire and pop in the exhaust until its warm. Cannot even back the car out of the garage. Car is on E85 full time.

Sounds like a tune issue. I don't have any of those problems on E85 and 10.0:1 compression. .

Spring and fall I let it idle for about 5 minutes and in the summer I idle for about 2-3 minutes. While this is happening I check everything over to be sure.
After reading this thread I’m going to add checking out the intercooler pump to my list.

my I/c pump will shut off randomly at times while driving even after Working at idle. If you have a gauge that monitors charge temps you can pick this up pretty easy.
I replaced pump and relocated the last one Near passenger side wheel well to see if it helps, proximity to headers might have been burning them up

That is not normal. How cold is the coolant temp when this happens?

Definitely a tune issue. I had a return system also on e85 and it was terrible to turn on. Before it would be an embarrassing amount of cranking and would even stall after idling for a minute. It was so bad it wasn’t drivable for a few minutes. Changed tuners and mysteriously the problems and symptoms went away. It fired up, idled and drove like stock if not better after the new tune.

It only does it in cold temps. I know of 2 other local cars that have the same issue. Could be the tune but I'd bet against it. I'll grab a video and post it up.
