So 674ft-lbs of torque isn't enough?

I finally got into WOT tuning of my car today and I can't say I consider it lazy. I punched it and the car took off. I saw 20psi on the gauge and I'm waayy low on timing.

Damn, so 20psi on pump 91? The timing must be ultra low. Is 20psi the lowest you can pulley/configure the gen4?

Any plans to run E85?

I could step up to the 3.6" pulley. Once I finish this tune and install the flex fuel sensor I plan on running E85 as well.

Ya that 3.6 would be the ticket for 91.....just so you can throw some timing back at it. But damn on E85 let her eat! Gonna be a mystichrome rocket ship

As a current 2.3 owner with a 3.4 crusher ready to go in...and I realize this might hurt my future sale ad...

SKIP THE 2.3 WHIPPLE. The torque argument on the street is just dumb, and tuned properly, you aren't going to miss that alleged low end torque advantage. Any tuner that laughs about it, probably likes making inflated numbers on the dyno instead of running times at the track, or putting power down on the street. You might also enjoy lower IAT2's at lower boost and rpm with a bigger blower.

With that said, the 2.3 whipple is MORE THAN CAPABLE. I've been 10.1 at full weight with stock longblcik when my car was a 6 speed, and 9.7 with the TH400. However, that's on c16 with an extremely aggressive tune.

On the other hand, 2.3 VMP is a sort of but not really best of all worlds compromise.

And I did the above times on a lethal budge return and 60# injectors. Everything was past max, but detuned, you'd probably be alright. Low 600's is about the max you should be comfortable with on straight pump on most any of these blowers.

I'll be running a Gen 3 on 93 this season. I haven't decided what kind of pulley set up yet but I plan to aim for 650-700 with a stock longblock full bolt on and return fuel set up.

**Edit** (sorry I meant to add more to this post, but clicked post)

I've had a TVS car with 60s and a BAP that was plenty of fun. made around 600.

My last car with a 2.9 (gen 2) was a freight train on e85.. It just kept pulling. The new owner of that car put on a gen 3 and is making 700 on 93.

My advice is to get the 2.9. its awesome, looks awesome and has a lot of potential.

If you plan on tapping out around 700 and want a great deal pick up a 2.3 TVS. They are awesome little blowers, they have the removable inlet and can be had relatively cheap.

Really can't go wrong either way! Good luck

Honestly even with the low timing it pulls pretty hard. My son was behind me when I jumped on it yesterday and he said I was just gone. Might be time to air down the drag radials a little.
