Ford Europe spending big money telling people that Tesla never happened. Why are they timing an 5,5 sec slow CUV in the dark are just one of many question I have after seeing this Lexus and furniture man advert.

Ford is heralding the start of a new decade with a bold campaign signalling a shift to electric vehicles, smart connectivity and new experiences. The first in a series of striking TV adverts features the all-electric Mustang Mach-E and highlights Ford’s progressive spirit, while underlining a commitment to electrification.

I think if Ford had not used the Mustang name people wouldn't be so pissy about it. I think it's a cool family vehicle with nice styling; and a peek at where Ford and the entire car industry is going. Purists like myself and others on this board don't like to see the history of our chosen pony car marred by it's name being used to promote an expensive electric SUV; being that it's the antithesis of what that car has represented since its inception.

Could the Gigantosaurus Ipad bolted to the dash be any larger?

Asking for a friend.

Guys we just need to face it..... this is the direction of cars in the future. Bland styling and cross over proportions.... with efficient drivelines that will deliver fairly quick acceleration. The clock is counting down the demise of cars like the GT500 as we know them. The demise of the manual transmission is just part of that move away from drivers cars.

Spot on. I'm seriously bent at Ford for naming the Mockery as a Mustang. It's pure blasphemy in my book. To be fair, I still would not buy it even if it was named something else. EVs are boring and soulless and the Mockery will be no different in that regard.

I'll get around to accepting this trend right after I accept high-waisted shorts and jeans. Don't hold your breath.

I'll just leave this here......
Fast EV is nothing new. Tesla S been at the showrooms since summer 2012. Fall 2020 it will get 3 motors. Its a CAR not a CUV. The Mock is a compliance CUV. It will be a bad ass Shelb-E for you to roll in.

Support the Chinese Economy!

Buy Lithium powered vehicles!

Thankfully the previous US administrations sold out to China and have made a policy of giving our tax dollars to build golf carts in the name of “environmentalism” Nothing more humane and environmental friendly than open pit Lithium mines in China!

All hail the Chinese Socialist Party!

Buy a Mach E at your Ford Store Today!

Then I cant buy Ford as Bill Ford and crew swing to the left. I care about performance. Tesla is the standard all others are up against. Ford Europe promised a performance SUV ev. What we got is a CUV that november 2020 are slower than 2017 Tesla 3. So say this is a SUV. November 2020 both Mock and Volvo xc40 Recharge hit the showrooms at the same price. But only one of them can do 4,7 sec and tow 3300 pounds. That my point. This compliance CUV will make a great Shelb-E.

3.5 seconds 0-60 in a small SUV, Just wait until the ball get's rolling as far as performance.

Tesla can't build normal car stuff and have ZERO service due to lack of dealerships and can't fix cars.

All the OEM's are going this direction and Tesla will get left in the dust. Period.

I'm not anti-technology. The problem is we are in the very early stages of the shift to electric vehicles. Right now the market is geared toward the early adapters who can afford the new technology. The infrastructure will need to be completely overhauled before EVs will be a viable means of daily transportation for the masses. While doomsday prophets are spouting their end of the world scenarios and trying to implement constraints on existing vehicles, they aren't doing nearly enough to change the means of energy production in order to support the shift to EVs. When solid state battery technology advances and electric production catches up, I'll be willing to make the move for my commuter/ daily vehicle.

First off for the sake of disclosure Bill Ford and the Ford Foundation are on the left side of Stalin, and make Musk look like Ronald Reagan.

As for this electrified cute ute I'm curious as to who is going to buy this $50k-$60k novelty?
They won't steal one Tesla customer. People who own Tesla's buy into the brand. They want to say they own a Tesla.
So who will buy these? They pissed off half of the Mustang owners by calling it a Mustang instead of just a Mach-E. Edge ST buyers?

When people ask themselves, "I could buy a Macan, a GLC, a X3, or a Ford Mustang". Can any of you say with a straight face people will pick the Mustang?
People that buy electric vehicles do so because it is a status symbol. They see themselves as progressive thinking. They are concerned with climate change, urban, well off. They are not going to brag to there friends (non-car people) that they bought a Ford Mustang.
Could you imagine the horror on the faces at the Manhattan dinner party when gender neutral Tom tells his friends he just bought a Ford Mustang Mach-e? "a Mach what?".
EV's are new technology. Mustangs are from the old world. Mach, What is this the 1960's?

This is what made YDBT rave about a Shelb-E? It just a what if answer from Ford Performance chief programme engineer Ed Krenz that Evo a magazine from UK blow up like some Fake news story. UK a country where Fiesta and small cars are top sellers. Cant see any other source that Ford has confirmed the Shelb-E, but Evo claims like it is CNN. https://www.evo.co.uk/ford/mustang/201971/ford-plans-a-hot-mustang-mach-e-shelby Will get expensive turning this compliance CUV that was not made for trackday use in to an Shelb-E 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Is Not Built for Sustained Track Performance
