Man I was kinda hating on the new GT500 because of no true manual trans being offered, pricing, delayed stats and availability, etc. But watching the rich punchable kid drive his thru the mountain passes on youtube makes me want one... Man that thing sounds pretty sweet. I might learn to live with having a double clutched automatic like that. I am seriously debating trying to buy one even though I shouldn’t! May have to get a used one.
No way you could outshift it as another poster mentioned. All of the supercars are set up like so now a days. I may be offering up my 2013 blk on blk with 20,000 miles soon, or wake up and realize I need a new car like a hole in the head!

Save your money. You have a great car that, while it may provide a little less bang, has a higher bang-for-your-buck quotient. It also has the proper number of pedals, a stick (rather than a knob) with which to shift gears, and classic American muscle looks.

Definitely still love the look of the 13-14 model over the new one. Especially from the rear, a really great stance and look.

Got behind one in Columbia,SC today coming back from the Beach in Charleston. It was Silver with Red Stripes. Had a loud exhaust for sure but sounded wicked I never really get to see one while driving and this just reminded me how much I love this year model Shelby.

The new GT-500 is a gem! No other words to describe how good it is. How much better it is over the older GT-500s. But it sounds like you borderline can afford a new one, so I advise you to wait a bit until a used one is more affordable. Or, wait until you're sure you can afford a new one. The car you have now does sound nice, so continue to enjoy it.....for now. JMO.

Although the new GT 500 is awesome in every respect, except for price and that silly dial where my elbow is supposed to go, I will be lovin my 13 GT500 forever.
Last of the big blocks, 3 pedals, and Carroll's direct input on the car makes the 13/14 so desirable, but go buy yourself a Christmas gift if so desired, I am sure you will have no regrets !!

Im gonna go against the grain here. I say go and get one. They are a hell of a car. If you can find one you want at a price your willing to pay, do it.

The new GT-500 is one hell of a car. If I could choose any Mustang to own, it would be the 2020. I would bet one drive and most who detest the DC auto would be won over. Not all, though. I totally understand those whose minds wouldn't be changed, despite the DC perfection. For them, a stick and nothing but a stick, will do. The '13-'14 GT-500 is awesome in its own right. A mighty fine car. @blue 07's and @1 Alibi 2's GT-500s are stunning!

while the '20 is faster without a doubt stock, it's more proof that speed does not instantly = fun

I bought a car first and foremost to have fun in- because speed can always be enhanced. but rowing through the gears and putting a smile on my face is still #1 priority.

Buy the 2020, then I'll swap you tranny's out of my ACR and we'll both be happy. I'll even cover the labor.

I mean where else did it come from? a blown coyote?...

You're saying if it's a $100,000 car, the transmission and electronics cost $25,000, correct?

In this case, those numbers are pretty spot on. The difference is, if you build a $100,000 car from the ground up, part by part...you're looking at about $700,000.

If this car would've had a manual transmission, 0 chance it would've come in $25,000, or ever $20,000 cheaper than it did.

my post was in response to your ridiculous offer about me buying a new 2020 just to swap the tranny...when I mentioned its a large chunk of the cost of the damn car.

wtf are you even going on about?

It's 355 ci... The block is small. The only thing large is the heads.
