It is very hard to find, but I figure one of you Mustang guys might have one. I'm willing to pay quite a bit for it and I just bought the new GMP 1993 Mustang Cobra in Teal that will arrive to my house next Thursday. I will do a partial trade for it if you want or pay you straight up.

I actually received the Teal 93' GMP Cobra today, it looks great. I'm no longer trading in, but i'm still interested in buying a GMP Groundpounder if you have one to sell.

Bump! Also, for anyone looking to buy the just re-released GMP 1993 Cobra. Give yourself a gift and pick it up now while it's still available. I bought mine in teal and it's 1 or 762. I'm guessing the red and black each have about the same amount made of each. Really beautiful model and extremely well detailed.

Still looking for the GMP Groundpounder and i'm willing to pay good money for it.

I also have this 1:18 GMP Malco Gasser Ohio George Model. This is actually the exact model I have, the twin turbo version, not the N/A one.

I'll do a trade plus money or however you want to do it. I really want that Groundpounder or a GMP 1985 GT.

Just curious. Is eBay usually a good source for these?
Yes and no. Some of the desirable and hard to find models like the GMP 87 LX, Pork Chop's Bounty Hunter just about never pop up on eBay. Since models like this and the Ground Pounder are low production with being 500/1000 made of each model they become quite difficult to come across. When they do pop up on eBay, often you will see a collector post up 5-7 of their collection. Most likely it's someone who has a pair of these (GMP) models and will sell their extra ones since they probably bought the extra one in the first place expecting them to go up in price after holding onto them for a while, and they actually do. Since, brand new they are much cheaper than 1:18 scale models like BBR, Kyosho, CMC, Autoart, GT Spirit, and maybe Norev. BBR is one of the only manufacturers that still make some of their models(higher end) in Italy, and sadly Norev used to make their models in France, but sold out and makes them in the CCP 1984 place called China.

Oddly enough the GMP models like the 1989 LX Drag Mustang, 1985 Dark Horse, 1989 LX Coupe Mustang (Ground Pounder) are all 1/1000 and are very difficult to find. When they do pop up on eBay for bid, they end up selling for $200 at the low end and usually for $250+. The models that are 1/500 are actually easier to find, not easy though. I speculate it's because the people that have these think they are worth a lot more due to the low production number and tend to keep posting them for high prices on eBay and most people don't bite. After a while I notice the models drop in price and sell for around the same as other Fox body GMP models that are out of production.

I have to say my favorite GMP Fox body models are the 1989 LX Drag Mustang and the 1985 LX Coupe (Dark Horse), since it's the only modified 4-eye they make and i'm particularly fond of 4-eye Mustangs. I have the 93 Cobra in Teal, but it's the Acme version, although it says GMP since Greenlight bought out all the molds to GMP and the company itself. Acme now builds many models and puts their name on it, while some of the classic designs they keep the GMP label on for brand recognition. Unfortunately the new 93 Cobra model is not as well done as the original GMP 93 Cobra that I believe was made in the late 2000s, early 2010/2011.

This one is my favorite though...

Sorry for the really long post! I've always been into building 1:24 scale models and buying 1:18 scale diecast models. I sold my turbo GT a while ago, then I totaled my WRX, so I really had nothing fun to tinker with and renewed my interest in 1:18 scale diecast models. If you ever really get into 1:18 scale models, check out diecastxchange forums. There are guys on there that take diecast models, completely tear them apart piece by piece, then use their 3D printers and make widebody fenders, custom wheels (there are sites that sell tires/turbos/bumpers,etc), basically anything they can think of and piece it all back together and create something that looks flawless and not like some hacked up piece of metal.

Interesting read. I saw one GMP Mustang (forgot which one) on eBay last night selling for around $1300.

Pretty neat that collectors are using 3D printers to make custom parts for their models.

Most likely the pre-production/prototype GMP models that weren't meant to be sold, but the person from the company who designed them or some how got a hold of them put them up for auction. I've seen some of those up for around $1k.

Will we ever see any SN95 GMPs? There are zero quality 96-98 diecasts available. Always wanted to see one from GMP.

If we haven't seen one by now, I doubt we will. The most likely SN95 I would expect to see made would be a 95 Cobra R or a 96 Cobra in Mystic since it was such an iconic paint color.

Maybe you can get Professor Chaos to suade their mind and make an SN95 mold.

Who is this Professor Chaos.
Only Professor Chaos I know is...
