A little xmas present to myself, built a 2nd upper and upgraded the lower. 20” .223 wylde bull barrel 1/8 twist, larue 2 stage trigger, Heavy buffer, and a Vortex 4-16x50mm. Hope to get her dialed in a week or two at the range.

Has anyone on here played around with the .22 TCM round? I have wanted to try this round out for a couple years new, but I haven’t ever got to personally shoot one of these.

I have thought about it but last I checked Rock Island was the only maker of a handgun in this caliber. Cheap sheetmetal garbage but just my opinion. I have thought of doing a full custom nighthawk in this caliber but I need a whole other platform to support like I need a hole on my head.

That’s been my reason for not doing. I’m not a fan of their guns.

I just found an 1894 trapper in 44 in LNIB condition. It has the saddle ring on it which is rare from what I have seen. Super stoked. Sadly no pics yet.

Do it! The RPR’s, for the money are such a great rifle. I own one in .308...which I’ve never shot, but shot my cousins numerous times.

If you want to shoot out to a mile, the RPR is a proven platform.

If you are going to shoot shorter distances you might consider .308 or 6.5 just because of the cost per round of .338 ($4-$5/round).

Then again, if you just want to go big, go for it.

I have one in 6mm cm, one friend has it in 6mm cm, and another in 6.5mm cm, and another friend who just bought one in .338 ....they all shoot fantastic! We shoot at a couple ranges in Ohio, one is a 1k range, the other goes to a mile. His .338 shoots very well at a mile, using cheaper ammo we could still hit the 17” plate fairly easily.
I say if you are interested then do it, just ensure your putting an optic on it that is equal to the task. My buddy is using my old night force 5.5-22x56mm scope.

Not a gun but to those of you that are looking, I just picked up a Lead Sled Solo at Tractor Supply for $33. Ran across it in their clearance section.
