Florida it will be for ME! Almost 30 years with the USCG (27 Active Duty, 3 as a GS Civil Employee), have 4 years left for the better half to retire, once she does, BACK to Pinellas County and the BEACHES for us! LOW taxes and AWESOME winters! Whoop Whoop!

California will miss you. I’ll leave when I retire working for the state. Use and abuse it.

I lived in Rancho back in the early 2000's. It was much more laid back and quiet than other parts of SoCal. We have driven through a couple of times on our way to LA from Vegas. I actually liked Rancho. What's it like now? Alta Loma was super quiet and then they opened the 210. Ugh.

Rancho is still pretty calm and chill. Best city in the “IE” if you ask me but I may be biased haha. The 210 was finished around 2008~. The Victoria gardens area has exploded. There’s tons of stores and restaurants in that area. The 210 and 15 just flood people into the Victoria gardens area and makes traffic pretty bad in that area. AL is still quiet and chill, that’s where I live. Daughter goes to ALHS as well and it’s a good school. Rancho has grown and expanded above etiwanda and has met/bordered with fontana up there off Wilson/Summit and the 15. Rancho is still a nice place. How’s Vegas?

Congrats on the move OP. Have you had any luck selling the Viper? On a side note I am going to be making the move to Syracuse Utah (30 minutes north of Salt Lake), escrow closes on 1/3 and I am getting the hell out of California before it is too late.

yea man, viper is sold =( ....to be honest I stashed that money for a down payment on a c7z or c8 LOL. However, I might buy another Viper, if I do it will be 4th gen. I'll start car shopping once I'm settled in AZ lol.

congrats on your move ! UT is really nice from what I remember. Most certainly better than CA.

damn that was a while ago LOL. I was 7 years old, didn't have a choice haha. But even in the past 10 years Kali was changed A LOT. I used to be able to tolerate most of the bullshit. But I've had enough of it.

Don't you dare move to a red/purple state if you plan on voting blue. To many states are getting infected by fleeing Californians that bring their bad ideas with them.

We actually live in Henderson/Green Valley. It is nice, reminds me of Rancho a bit. Pretty quiet because it is an established area, whereas other parts of town are growing dramatically. We can't seem to keep the Californians out of here! LOL

Traffic is getting worse, but nothing compared to California. Cost of living is much better. One thing I have noticed is that since we are in the desert, it gets cold at night in the winter. We have lows expected in the upper 30s next week!

this shit pisses me off lol. every one assumes all californias are blue. Guess what I'm hardcore conservative REPUBLICAN. Which is why I am leaving. So no, I won't be infecting AZ =)

I used to think the same thing. But honestly man, is it really worth just the weather? That is the ONLY good thing about CA. **** the weather, i'll sit in the pool or lake with a 12 pack. You can ALWAYS hop on a plane, travel wherever you want. And PHX connects to the WORLD.

So the money you don’t pay in state income tax, state sales tax, state gas tax... from living in another state will buy you a Sandals Caribbean vacation for a week every year. The California politicians that have been in service to their state for longer that 2 terms should be looked into as the problem. Because they sure aren’t the solution. It bothers me that I am using the word treason so much more often when it comes to politicians that I think I sound like a broken record. But if you hang the first 15-30 corrupt life long public servants from a rope in the town square, the rest will eat each other till they are all gone

more than a cruise every year ....LOL.. but it's not just the money savings, it's the CA laws that get me. Every year it gets worse than the previous year. As soon as I cross the border, I might run naked down my block grasping an AR with Trump stickers plastered all over my body LOL. I used to think I'd have to wait until retirement to leave Commiefornia. I am kind of taking a risk due to a new business venture however I think the cost savings will be worth it. Hell I'm already saving $200k just buy moving. That's makes me ****ing smile.

Don't you already own a home in Fla? No state income tax, concealed carry, no vehicle inspections, shorts and tees 90% of the year....

What else could you want?

(Don't say no hurricanes)

The cities in the higher elevation aren’t as hot as the Phoenix area. Flagstaff is always a nice little town every time I’ve gone thru it. Maybe I’ll retire to there. I googled the hottest temp recorded in Flagstaff and it said 97 degrees in 1973. If that’s the hottest it ever gets there, that’s really nice!!
