I'm not saying this number is inaccurate, but lets wait before we call this 100%.

I used to use scales like this some years back and it won't surprise me if the car is actually 40lbs heavier or lighter than this number.
Yea i'm still not calling anything 100% till Nick throws one on his real corner balance scales.

And what if I told you...that with that news and everything else we've seen I'm most likely going to be contacting you for an allocation for a '21. This car is literally too good to pass up. I'm bummed about no manual but that DCT is really well-done from everything we've seen so far.

An MO to CO roadtrip would be fun and with the break-in not complete I wouldn't be tempted to get arrested in Western KS...
It's an easy trip.

I do it too often.

I enjoy the debate. You have to keep in mind i've never actually said anything negative about the GT500 other than Fords horse ass release and the stupid ass CFTP golden shit ticket. I've been very impressed with what they've actually done with the car with the press events and the real world feedback is just lightyears ahead of the C8. Weight aside. Also appreciate that this very well could be the last great Ford until the current leadership takes us down the hipster queer MachcuckE route.
i think you’re very right and that’s how i ended up in camaro for the time being. I can’t see a 500 being made next gen that the majority here will give a shit about. Ford really seems to have gone over the top with this one like they know it too...go out with a bang so to speak. And the next gen camaro is already axed supposedly.

I will be zero surprised if this 500, and the latest cars we currently have are the last of the greats. I’m not buying skinny jeans so I’ll keep this one for now, but i would not be unhappy about a 500 or a gen 5 Viper at some point either.

As obsessed as I am with these 500 vs GM times I'll likely never own either and buy some clapped out overpriced 1990's italian exotic once I'm done with racing lol

Lol i am not messed up about going back in time. I got a slight glimmer of hope about the future watching the VW ID.R do pike’s peak...but then remembered i can’t have one of those either.

Just some Jenny Craig and it’s under 4000.

Who really needs the trunk spare kit, owner manual, and radiator? The car has 11 other coolers. The radiator is obviously a day late and a buck short at this point.

RSD and some aftermarket rims aren't unreasonable mods that will pull weight at reasonable cost. Some CC rotor$.....mmmmm....great location to trim quite a bit of unsprung weight but the cost is just silly.

There is a market for a gt500kr with carbon ceramics, some lightening, and fender vents in the $125k Range. 100 units of market, maybe.

Dropping 15lbs at each front wheel would be pretty meaningful.

100? Yeah right. They'd easily sell 1,000 at $125-150k within 1 week of the order banks opening.

It's easy to say weight doesn't matter when you're not the one replacing the tires and brakes lol... I'll give the GT500 that it's fast, but the thought of a 4000 lb track car being lapped on any sort of regular basis is physically painful.

I go through a set of Hoosiers/weekend on my ACR for $1800 a set.

My car weighs 3300lbs lol

If that’s the case, how come only 1,173 GT500s have been ordered? I think it’s an amazing car but Ford should’ve hyped it a bit more. The little bit of marketing they did, was with the almost impossible to get CFTP.

So why did the Las Vegas media day cars have no issue? Lapped all day by novices just hammering brakes.

Small track too. 140-30mph range for literally 8 hours.

I could see the heavier wheel handling pack cars eating up tire though.

Unsprung weight and under utilized contact patch eat up tire. Flat smooth contact patches without crazy camber as well as light easily rotated wheels dramatically reduce tire wear.

The viper acr would be dramatically faster with just lighter wheels and tires. Put a 335 mpsc2 out back with a carbon wheel... only issue I can deduce is the 2000lbs of downforce in combination with the ~1500lbs of rear end may be too much load for an mpsc2. Otherwise I don’t understand the play call to run the kumho unless they were considering replacement cost. Obviously they wear so goddamned fast that even if it’s half price of the Michelin, it’s still a net loss. The Michelin’s seem to last pretty well.
