This def seems more accurate.

There’s no tires in the crate.

@BrunotheBoxer @gimmie11s @ZYBORG

How do I get tires on the skinnies through dodge, do they arrive separate of the crate I’d imagine? They’re included in the order right?

Obviously if you have to buy tires separately the stock argument is bullshit.

The tires probably ship separate and direct from xyz manufacturer and you have to mount them. I can’t find anything to corroborate that but it’s my hunch.

The TW is whatever the manufacturer wants to stamp on the tire. The cup 2 in reality comes in a wide variety of TW and if this car is doing what they say its doing its more along the lines of 60TW. That's just physics

I’ve seen the trofeo r to be faster on mclarens and exotics compared to the psc2’s.

Track tires: Trofeo R vs. MPSC2

I know there have been reformulations since then. I’d love to see a well controlled tire test on a single car.

Its not just reformulations since then, the Cup2 comes in all sorts of different compounds from mild to wild. It had been saif even by BillyJ himself that there is not faster tire than the cup 2 on the cftp. Handling pack car on the 4S has zero chance of taking down a Z1le. Put it on the cup 2 and it will be good

perhaps, but I don't recall seeing anything within the last year about guys comparing the mustang to anything besides the demon, RE, or the new vette
Because joe public only talks about whats new and theres been nothing but regurgitated C8 articles. Camaro is also no longer relevant in a straight line like the Demon is. But I think people are forgetting how impressive the Z1LE is in its territory.

I had to buy the skinnies separately. Dodge recommends the M&H, so I went that route.

Ok. While I think the crate idea is very cool and an informed decision by Dodge, if you have to buy the tires and mount them to the rim, then I’m going to consider it case closed that the 9.65@140 is really impressive but aftermarket.

I’m going to compare drag prepped gt500 times on race gas with tune to the 9.65@140 and subsequent private party runs thereafter.

No, it’s not that I’m saying anyone is wrong not to. But for me that’s case closed.

That said, the demon moves out for a 4300lbs burly girl. If dodge cuts some cheese and bread from her diet, she’s got 8’s easy enough in a future gen.

Anyone got any guesses what a gt500 should run on racegas/tune with radials on a 18x11 and 20” skinnies with the Seats pulled? I still don’t think it will run 9.65@140 but it probably has 9.8-9.9@137+ imo

Who knows, maybe the tune just on 91 is worth 30-40whp, if so racegas and tune/filter like a demon might have it above 760whp. Iirc demons put 760-790whp so it could be very close.

I think the demon would 60’ better.

I’ll let ya know come spring!
Gonna do a demon vs gt500 shootout

I see no issue with the gt500 tickling high 9s with dr and weight reduction, and a small tune.

Hell, it took a lot of work for me to get my demon into the 9s!

840-hp ECU and 100-octane are fair game in my book. Removed seats is getting into non-stock/modded territory. And any tire more aggressive than a drag radial is as well.

The Demon is a great muscle car. The GT500 nearly matches it in a straight line while offering handling akin to European exotics. An extremely big accomplishment for Ford.

1/2 mile races will be very interesting between these two cars. The 500 has a major aero advantage and a quicker shifting trans. I think the GT500 will just eek out a win in the 1/2 but the 1/4 will take mods to keep up with the purpose-built drag car.

Demonology has a good video on why DCT may be a problem for hitting crazy fast times.

I got about halfway through that video and just stopped watching it. So maybe I should have watched the entire thing, but basically from what I saw to that point, the guy says the GT500 can't touch the Demon's 60ft times, no way he says. Yet he's comparing runs from stock street tires and a novice driver to a Demon with slicks and skinnies lol. Of course, the GT500 with no tire is not going to match that 60ft time.

I do not know much about DCTs but I think that his point is that it is too lazy off the line to cut fast enough 60 ft times to be a danger to the demon, regardless of the tire. Even though it was on stock tires it was hooking. 1.7 60 ft is very slow for a 10.6.

I do not know how accurate this is but if you plug a 1.7 60 ft you get a 12.23 at 108.

I’m pretty sure IF the trans holds up, when people put a tire, e85, tune and pulley will be a easy mid 9 second car.

168 vs 180mph top speed tells me the gt500 easily has a half mile.

If it’s pulling 1.72 60ft on stock mp4s’s it has 1.4’s with slicks.

The slip or lock explanations seem like Tom foolery

The 168 limiter does not inhibit the Demon during the half mile. The fastest 1/2 mile time for a demon with the 840 ECU is 165.
