I’m with you on that. I was just wanting to make sure you didn’t cite my half-ass driving skill as any kind of benchmark of what one should expect from the car...:)

It will be interesting to see what happens with the GT500 as people get seat time. I personally don’t think people will see the same massive gains going from the stock tires to a DR or even slick setup as it’s got a pretty good tire to start with, plenty of width from the factory and a lot less torque to handle down low.

Will there be gains.....I certainly think so but I think we are going to learn that the GT500, as it comes from the factory, is probably way easier to extract all its potential from than an even heavier, massive torque Redeye on pizza cutter tires. Even on a good tire the hellcat takes a little finesse off the line....

Make no mistake, I have no doubt that with both stock to the tire a new GT500 will slaughter a Redeye. Throw a tire on both and a little bit of seat time and I bet you’ve got a hell of a race on a prepped track.

Edit - to answer your question....I do fully expect times to improve. I just don’t think the improvements will be as substantial as I think it’s going to be an easier vehicle to drive fast....however, I won’t be shocked or upset to be proven entirely wrong.

Agreed. I think it will be similar to the C6z going from stock tire to sticky tires. Ranger gained .3 and 3 mph on dr.
We could see a high 10.48/.49 in -2k+ da and good prep stock with a good driver. I think we will definitely see multiple 10.5 stock. Then ad .3 from tire maybe 10 flat but more likely 10.1 or so at 135/136. My predictions on tire. A good .5 better than this run 10.66 first time out.

I think we’ll see 9’s just from a custom tune, and slicks. 1.4 60ft will send it into the 9’s at a great track/conditions and the stock tune was 10 flat a/f.

Very easy low 10 car with drag prep at most tracks. Set it up like a demon with a 100 octane, slicks, and some crazy 20” skinny and it should click 9.65@140. Impressive for a 4075lbs car you can bolt the stock wheels back on and run away from gt3rs’s on a track with.

My question is how will the dct hold up? If we go 6 months without one breaking, stock or bolt ons, then I think they can handle quite a big amount of torque. T56’s with just minor improvements are good for 800+ tq and factory just 425tq rated.

The 625tq rating is obviously a safe rating. Hopefully just a few tweaks can get them to hold 900tq.

don’t be salty that the OLD OEM bone stock Demon is a full second faster the new modded Shelby with a 2step.

Yeah, all of what? 2-years old? Car is practically ancient...

The Demon has a trans-brake, 100-octane tune, skinnies, and half a mile of below sea-level DA for a run that hasn't been replicated years later.

I was gonna mention the slicks and skinnies, too. Forgot about the other stuff.

Is that an insult of the gt500 having daddy rape issues or some non readable attack at its ability to run away from a gt3rs on the same tire it can click off a 10.6@132?

Edited, let’s wait and see it run a demon strip and roll

Not an insult. 500 is a badass car in its own right. It’s is a full package (complete drivers’ car) It just is not as fast as the Dodge Demon in a straight line or as special (IMO).

I’d take either one, tho. No hurt feels.

Just letting you know there’s a creepy guy on a toilet with a smartphone in yer last post.

And the gt500 is faster to 60 than he is.

And Geoffrey Epstein didn’t kill himself

Ya. Iirc 2:47 at vir for the gt3rs and low 2:40’s for the gt500 cftp

When you bring 760hp to a road course or a drag strip, it out guns fancy 500hp Porsche’s.

Cftp gt500’s probably have better 60ft than the base / track

Apparently this car is fast.

I just read the VIR thing with Motortrend. They were hitting 170 lap after lap and pushing 140 up through the esses.

Those are like.. the same numbers that the C7ZR1 was putting up when Chevy rented the track for that week to beat the FGT.

wrong. The Z1E ran a 2:45 with an amatuer. The GT3RS is considerably faster than that. The 3RS also holds the Road Atlanta track record, faster than the ACR's fastest lap there. I do think the 500 will be right around the 3RS on certain tracks but it will not be "running away"

Did you notice the handling pack wing in one of the cut scenes? Maybe we'll get the full product range for review. Its happening sooner than I thought! Kind of exciting

I didn't. I don't think I was paying attention, which is typical.

I thought they ran a handling pack car with aero parts and the CFTP only. I'd like to see the difference between the base/handing/CFTP but I imagine there isn't enough difference between the base/handling car for them to showcase both.
