Settle down lil buddy.

The bench with which we measure is not off of hero runs.

No. Saddle up for your ride to 9.65@140 in a demon.

Nah...Care to show that person that said the new car isn’t fast... ?

I’ll admit I thought it would be faster in the amazing conditions posted above, but 130s trap speed on factory tires is impressive no 2 ways about it.

I’m just not going to stand on top of a mountain and declare the car will runs 9s in -2500 DA. Lmao. I doubt it would, but who GAF even if it did being that is not the real world.

-2500da is where the demon ran 9.65@140. You suck at this game.

In fairness to the Dodge faithful.....I was babying it off the launch. There was an easy .3-.4 (at minimum) left in it. With all of 600 miles on it and 5 days in my possession I wasn’t out trying to set any records. I was just out to have fun and get a feel for it. Now trap speeds in very comparable DA’s were similar. I was trapping 133 in 100-300’ DA that day.

I’d love to tell you I’ll go out next time and drastically better my “stock with radials” time.....but it isn’t going to happen as the car goes to Stage 6 next week for a pulley/tune/injectors/thermostat to go along with the catless mids and CAI I put on it this week :)

But along with this whole discussion.....on factory rubber a new GT500 is going to torch a Redeye. The stock Redeye tires are pure crap.

I think both cars with equal drivers on better rubber will be a very close race. I think a 9 for a GT500 on just better tires is going to be a stretch but both cars on a good tire are easily capable of bottom 10’s.

I understand all that. I was using your number as proof that people or a certain car does not run their best times first time out.
To gain .5/.6 with just practice(from first runs) indicates that by adding dr/et streets to a set up and time under throttle another vehicle with similar hp/weight one may be to gain the same .5/.6.

Do you agree?

I’m with you on that. I was just wanting to make sure you didn’t cite my half-ass driving skill as any kind of benchmark of what one should expect from the car...:)

It will be interesting to see what happens with the GT500 as people get seat time. I personally don’t think people will see the same massive gains going from the stock tires to a DR or even slick setup as it’s got a pretty good tire to start with, plenty of width from the factory and a lot less torque to handle down low.

Will there be gains.....I certainly think so but I think we are going to learn that the GT500, as it comes from the factory, is probably way easier to extract all its potential from than an even heavier, massive torque Redeye on pizza cutter tires. Even on a good tire the hellcat takes a little finesse off the line....

Make no mistake, I have no doubt that with both stock to the tire a new GT500 will slaughter a Redeye. Throw a tire on both and a little bit of seat time and I bet you’ve got a hell of a race on a prepped track.

Edit - to answer your question....I do fully expect times to improve. I just don’t think the improvements will be as substantial as I think it’s going to be an easier vehicle to drive fast....however, I won’t be shocked or upset to be proven entirely wrong.

You guys think this car is under rated like the 03-04’s, or just technology?

My vote is 10/90. I’d bet the mill makes a healthy 775-780hp.

Big thing is definitely the dct, programming, and electronic controls centered around a really capable chassis and hard parts. It’s a great overall rwd package.

I imagine the reason you can floor the car out of corners is because it has some inherent tuning in the pcu and trans that realizes the car is cornering at xyz g force and pulls a little power out.

Ambitious dyno, amazingly efficient drivetrain or very under-rated?

It’s just a higher rpm 760hp pd car on a dyno. People think the 15% thing is science, it’s fiction.

Factory tune looked like it was at 10.0/1 af on the dyno. Just a tune will net 30whp easy.
