As a rule, I do not allow my company to provide services to any company located in Cali. Years ago we sold one small ($50k) system to a user in Cali, and had to deal with the CA tax Nazi's for 3 months. No thank you.

I hate the leftist morons in office coming out of Cali. Even Cali's senators are dumb and oppressive.

When getting ready to order my GT40, I traveled to Cali to see/drive a car and get the details together. But it felt like eating a plastic bag. Leaving, I left Irvine and took the 405 to LAX. LOL, along the way the areas next to the interstate looks like Bartertown from Mad Max! I stewed at the airport and made up my mind not to buy anything from Cali, went looking anywhere else and ultimately got a better price, and did not send money to Cali.

My family wanted a Cali vacation last year, I took them to Nassau instead!...LOL

I wonder how many people feel like I do, and keep their money out of states like Cali, and Illinois.

It's true.

I'm here to collect my benefits, pay, and eventual pension in about 15 years.

Just gotta ride it out and go elsewhere.
But....15 more years in the shitty state is going to be like wading through thick mud. I hope you make it! With all the crap that has happened there over the past 5 years, 15 would be an eternity. :(

Why were they coming after you like that?

And I used to live in Cali. I hated every second of it and would rather be in Afghanistan.

State Sales Tax.

The rule is (most states except this) that if you resale a product into a state, but you do not have a "nexus" in that state (which means you do not solicit in that state and you do not have a residence or offices in that state, you do not have to collect state sales tax for that state, or get a license to collect tax for that state.

Imagine a customer in Hawaii needs a $100 item (one time purchase). The state does not want to put you on their books to have you send in quarterly statements (it costs the state money to set you up, and then maintain you) showing zero sales in their state month after month, and no tax for them to collect.

Cali Dept of Revenue did not care about nexus, they wanted the tax revenue. LOL, they threatened to jump a plane and audit me. I said "come on and waste the taxpayers of California's money!, I have had one sale in Cali in 12 years, and have never traveled there for business."

Finally the customer jumped in and showed the good people at the dept of revenue their state exception cert, which meant I could not collect taxes from them anyway......LOL

Most of that is true but is not encompassing all of California.

I live about 1 hour east of SF and the school my kid goes to is one of the top in the area.

I never see anyone crapping in the side walks. Of course you’re going to see this in SF. There are 18k homeless people there.

If you live in the Bay Area of course you’ll feel poor. It’s home to some of most expensive real estate in the whole us and the world.

Which part of what he said in the video is not true? My kids go to fantastic schools also, but that is anecdotal and doesn't mean the state's school system is not completely broken (it is).

My wife, sister, and mother are teachers in CA.

I look forward to your response!

That is equivalent to stating a person is the smartest kid in the special education class.

Nope! I flew out to CA about 11 months ago for an epic car show, Paganis, Koenigseggs, Senna, 918, Chiron, etc. You won't find a show like that anywhere in the US, except LA area.

I also stopped off in San Jose while on my way to Hawaii like 6 weeks ago.

Plus CA has Yosemite. That's my happy place. I feel sorry for anyone who hasn't been to Yosemite.

Just last night I bought a plane ticket to Chicago. I had a ticketmaster gift card to kill, there's a concert, $80 flight, $22 hostel...I'll grab some deep dish, hit a museum, and fly home 48 hours after I land.
