Yeah you're going to pickup 10-20whp in amazing air. So a 3300lb-ish car with 470-480whp is going to trap 121 or so. The point some of us are trying to make is, how would a car that weighs 300lbs more than yours, and is supposed to make 20-30whp less (495 crank would be around 450whp midengined), trap 2-3mph HIGHER at 123-124 (Car and Driver/Motor Trend numbers)

What are the TQ numbers on the vette? Much better than my 414rwtq I'll bet...enough to trap 122? Perhaps id say

Let’s hope this means the C8Z will ring in at under 100k to start and it will be hard to resist buying one

I’m guessing 90-95k base, either way I’ll be waiting to see how it turns out. It may just be the one car in that price cap that I would want more then a GenV viper
If it were me, the C8 Z06.

ALL

THE

WAY!!! lol

That crowd is already chanting fake news if the gt500 loses to anything.
I don’t think this makes the GT500 out to be any less of a stellar vehicle if the C8Z trounces it, it really should be expected.

Personally the only appeal to the GT500 for me though is that I could fit my son in the back so it would be a more family friendly weekend ride.

The GT500 should not even compete with the last z06. A heavy 4 seat car that starts life as a cheap coupe should not be close!

A purpose built light(in today’s world) blown sports coupe meant to compete with vehicles 3 times its price should destroy all mustangs and Camaros. Yet it does compete and beat the outgoing vette. And competes with the ACR the one who set all those track records. That’s phenomenal!

Of course the new one with the advances will out do the soon to be 20 GT500. So will the new 992 turbo and GT3 at least I think they will.

mom actually not shocked it’ll compete with the previous C7Z as it is the newest top tier offering from ford. As far as 4 seats we’ll the only thing fitting in them is young kids. Still it has 4 seats and weighs a lot so it gets massive credit. As far as hanging with the ACR that is quiet the feat but also took years to make it happen and a substantial price jump in its market segment so it’s not too crazy to see it happen.

it’s an impressive offering from ford that’s for sure. I’ll be curious to see how high above it’s normal class it now punches. I surely wouldn’t be sad to have one in my garage but if the C8Z is all that’s expected it would be damn hard for me to choose the GT500. We’ll see what the boss has to say when the time comes aka the wife, though she did ask the other day when does the new vette hit dealers lots lol

Seeing as the Mustang is (basically) the last car in Ford’s lineup, it had better kick some a$$.

When has a new svt mustang kept up with the old z06? Let alone beating it?
03 or 07 vs c5z? No
11 or 13 vs c6z? Not a chance.
