So I went from an '04 Cobra, to an Explorer, to eventually a Gen 5 Viper, and now this. With the help of the owner of Ultima, I spec'd out their new RS model and sent a deposit today. It's a ~990kg (2,178lbs) kit car powered by the small block Chevy motor of your choice. I'm going with the LT5 engine out of the 2019 Corvette ZR1 and a transaxle from a Porsche 911 Turbo.

I spec'd mine out to look just like this one:

I optioned this exhaust but am having them make it without mufflers or catalytic converters. I'm also going to put an aggressive cam in the LT5.

And now I wait roughly 6 months for it to get on a ship from England to the US, then another month for it to get here, then another few months to assemble it.

That Evolution in the video is a beast. Lightweight and mega power = HANG ON!!

The Ultima RS looks nice. Keep us posted, and you MUST make a video of a freeway run.

Pretty cool.
Are you getting a left hand or right hand drive? I noticed the photos above are in left hand drive.

I've seen a GTR at some local shows over the years. Really nice guy owns it and was telling me all about it one time. He has an LS7 in it and he said it's like a rocket ship. I can't imagine it with more HP than that!

Oh I plan on making lots of videos of it. I'm in Florida so the plan is to take it to Daytona, Sebring, and Homestead for their track days. Also the guy that runs the Dragtimes YouTube channel is down here so I'd like to see what it will do against a 720s :D.

Dare I ask what pricing is like for one of these? Looks damn cool and is definitely unique

So the basic two pack kit with almost all the parts is low $50,000 range. But then you have options and drivetrain. You could put a junkyard Chevy 350 in there with a G50 5-speed transaxle. Or you could get all the carbon fiber bits (splitter, wing, scoops, wheel well vents), AIM digital dash, upgraded brakes, etc, etc. My kit came to the low $90k ballpark and then I will have to add the LT5 and Porsche Turbo transaxle. But this is a car with the performance potential of a Group C LeMans car or better that you can put a license plate on.

Pretty cool.

I'm getting the U.S. spec left hand drive.

Yeah I almost got a GTR two years ago before buying the Viper, but thought it just looked dated. Then I saw the RS come out over the summer and finally made the move to sell the Viper to semi-fund this.

Nice! Are you documenting the build at all? Start a thread and post pics.. or link to it if you already did. I'd like to check it out.

For that price range it actually isn’t a bad deal. Basically rings in around 120 I assume which is less then many cars it out performs. I’ll be interested to see the build and hear your reviews on it. Definitely a unique car in general let alone the great potential

What engine? I've long wanted a LS based exocet with an auto. That could go exotic hunting on I4. :)
