I have a few in the fridge! Let me know when you want to stop by!

I'm back on my hook of sim racing...so I'm sure we could have fun with that!

0 chance it weighed (weighs) 4,000lbs.
They would have to be made out of lead for them to weigh that much.

There was a way better picture of one next to a previous generation (EU) Focus, but the original source was gone and it wouldn't post.

The Focus showed just how small that car is. It wouldn't surprise me if it rivals a Miata.

1966 Ford GT- 40
70.5" wide
40.5" tall
171" long
95" wheelbase

2019 Miata
68" wide
49" tall
154" long
90.9" wheelbase

Pretty darn close.

Great movie. I guess proper wheel torque setting is to swing the hammer as hard as possible :D

Seeing COBRA on the backs of Shelby's pit crew at Le Mans....to now watching them slap a supercharger and their sticker on a Ford, guess you can't stay young forever :/

Just got back from seeing the movie with some friends. Really liked the movie and the MILF herd in the lobby waiting for Frozen 2 was a bonus.

The thing about kit GT40s is that guys that will pay top dollar for them want exact replicas (minus the space frame). No "upgrades", etc., to the car. 427 FE blocks are 'spensive....ZF transaxles are 'spensive....

And if you have a Gurney bubble, they eat that up.

As far as continuation cars go, now Superformance offers a "Tool Room" GT40. It is an exact copy of the cars from the 66-69 races, and goes up to 300K in cost. When I went to Irvine CA to get more details before ordering my car, I saw/sat in this car:
1969 GT40 Superformance MKI | Hillbank Motor Sports

This car is brand new car that the owner ordered as a copy of the GTP 1075 car that won in 68 & 69. Then Superformance came out with the Tool Room car and this owner ordered that. So they have this car on consignment.

The original cars had Colotti transaxles.

1075 is a Mark I car (won 68 & 69), and a big block is too tall. The cars from the movie are Mark II cars, with big blocks, you can see they have a higher rear clam.

I saw it last night, I enjoyed it. I was shocked when Ken Miles died bringing the car in, I had no idea how he passed.
It kinda hurt mane, I can't lie.

Saw it Friday night. Thought it was great.

With the success of this movie, I'd love to see a follow up that focuses on the story of the Daytona Cobra. Beating Ferrari with the loophole that Ferrari lobbied the FIA for would be great to see on the big screen.

I thought it was going to be decent, although I didn't think I could buy Damon playing the Texan Shelby. It was way better than I thought it would be. Really enjoyed it. Even my wife did and she's not really into racing or car movies in general.

Why is it not right hand drive?

Ha, That is a good question! I know who ordered it and he is a stickler for detail, but I will have to ask to see why he went LHD.

My car is LHD, but I am not really trying to duplicate any car (a "nod" to the 1049 car).

The LHD car has a wider seat for the driver than the RHD (at least from Superformance). The RHD cars have the same seat left and right.
