Does anyone have a clip of them. I live in California so I’m not going long tubes for now. I also have noticed you can get used JBA sets for cheap. I’m going to put in the extra work to mod them to improve them and hopefully find some way to stop the cracking I heard was prevalent at one time.

Does anyone have a sound comparison video between shorties and stock manifolds?

The mufflers and cats vs no cats on mid pipe play way more in the sound than shorties vs Stock. I dont think switching just to shorties will change anything.

Every other mod motor I’ve seen go shorties has had either a tone or pitch change and I’m seeing if that happens here with the shorties. Stock manifolds vs shorties sound wise I want to here the change.
All I’ve ever heard is they help smoothen the sound but with no videos of them side by side I it’s hard to tell.

Do it lol, & video before/after!

Don't waste your time, but if you do it definitely get videos.

I’ve seen sets for $200 on the used markets; after modifying them up and everything else needed shouldn’t be too much work since I’m going to do a clutch swap and such soon.

Since CA and smog guys can’t get long tubes and some want to change sound I may just undertake it soon.

I got a set of JBA shorties cheap and put them on my car at one point. I added a MRT H-pipe at the same time. The positives were larger inside flange diameters at the H-pipe, port exhaust individually diverted and not directed at one another (less heat directed at the back ports), ceramic coated to reduce and remove heat from the engine bay. I don't think there was any difference in power, but the engine had more heat resistance. The H-pipe made the exhaust much louder, but the sound didn't change like adding headers. Honestly, I did a lot of knuckle scraping in a very tight area for almost no performance and a little engine protection.

You're aware of the jba cracking which is good but if you research jba put some pretty good gusset supports on later versions and they still crack. It's the reason I gave up on the shortie idea and went midlength
