I’ve read several posts on here and other forums for that matter trying to get a good idea of how a shorty header compares to the stock manifolds but all i really seem to find is either how Longtubes compare to stock logs , or how Longtubes compare to shorty headers , but never how the shorty headers compare to stock logs . Can anyone give me an idea of that ? I already have an uncatted mac prochamber for my midpipe that i love and I’d like to stick with it , plus I’d rather not do Longtubes. So with that being said I’d like to go with the shorties . Can someone from experience tell me the differences they saw switching from stock manifolds to shorties ?
Hp gains ? Throttle response? Anything ?
THANK YOU !!!!

I can't answer your question but I can give you some advice.

*The only shortie headers that I've seen made for these cars are the JBA and the FRPP headers, both had issues with cracking, JBA even added gussets to help prevent the cracking but they still crack. In my opinion this is reason enough to stay away from the shorties.

I went JBA "long tubes" which are actually midlength.
Pro's
They don't have slip fit collectors like the Bassani's
Stainless steel
Provide good ground clearance.
O2's are in a stock location, so less of a tuning issue.

Con's
They lightly touched the kmember, a few taps with a sledge fixed that. Another user of them had the same problem but told me with an aftermarket Kmember it was no issue.
They make engine removal more difficult, they catch on the kmember going up, they catch on the kmember pad going down.
JBA only offers an H-pipe for them, what I did was buy the H-pipe, cut the front half off and splice it with clamps to the rear half of my UPR X-pipe. Ground clearance is actually better than stock manifolds with aftermarket X-pipe.

Good advice above. Personally, I wouldn't waste time/money on shorties. Mid-length headers (ie. Bassani) can be a good option. There are a number of long tubes choices, and lots of threads here discussing them.

I wanted to go ARH or Kooks but neither company makes an H-pipe . I don’t like the sound of an X-pipe . Plus i wanted to stay with my Flowmasters for my 03 Cobra and they only have an option for 2.5 not 3 inch and ARH and Kooks are both 3 inch . Forgive me I’m 43 years old and i love my Flowmasters. I had them on my Foxbodys in high school and I’ll never outgrow that sound

I ran 2 chambers on my fox body too. The chokemasters are not good for power on these cars. Good reason why most of us dont run them. You can always make, or have made, your own H pipe. That's probably what you will have to do.

I was going to say the same thing.. Any Exhaust shop should easily be able to make a 3inch H pipe that can taper down to a 2.5
