No. That goes to the state it'll be registered in. Didnt lie.

This is also with a full tank of fuel.

Does Ford ship the car with full tank of fuel??? Pretty certain shipping companies don't fill cars with fuel before they are shipped (nothing like a bunch of cars burning with full fuel tanks should something happen during transport causing catastrophic explosions and a major fireball of exploding cars).

My ZR1 came in with a near empty fuel tank and had a shipping weight of 35XX pounds...…………...just sayin'.

13cobra, do you have proper race scales? Id love to see what numbers you get with your own hands

Yes.

The vast majority of them come in with fuel in them. The last GT350 I had off the truck came in with a little over 3/4 tank and had 3.5 miles on it.

Some of y’all are unreal. Just no making you happy.

you got that right. remembers years back when everyone was like, man I wish ford offered an automatic like chevy does. Thats all I heard on the forums. Now ford put a DCT and people are crying. Now its the weight. Nobody is ever happy.

so what the fuk should I say? I still own my out dated 2003 cobra that I bought 17 years ago. I can't even afford to buy a new mustang. A regular 5.0. Let alone a GT500! I would take the new GT500 in a heart beat. But it will never happen. lol

I dont really care if it comes in at 3900 or 4500. I just made a very simple point to not jump to conclusions when it hasn't been properly weighed yet. Just like so many seem to jump to conclusions that its faster than an ACR because of a highly unofficial video. If your car is weighing in at that then the CFTP would most certainly be 39xx and that would make a certain in the know person wrong. Considering he said it wont be under 4k or even close.

13cobra, do you have proper race scales? Id love to see what numbers you get with your own hands

How do you know it wasn't weighed properly? Were you present when they weighed the vehicle?

Numbers jive. A cftp car with recarros with a 1/4 gallon of gas, 5oz low on brake fluid, floor mats out, owners manual and flat can pulled, and importantly the oil a quart low may weigh 3975lbs.

Ok. With fluids that’s almost 4150. That’s not even close to 4000lbs.

Im 167lbs if I don’t eat or drink for 5 days. Otherwise I’m 175-180. I don’t tell people I’m 170lbs.

Gas is 7-8lbs a gallon. Hell, if I lop off some unneeded toes, or an extra outer ear I’m 165lbs. If you just pull the unneeded passenger seat outta the gt500 it’s suddenly 3940lbs. Drain a quart of diff oil out too, and drain the wiper washer fluid, swap to a micro oil filter and drain some transmission fluid and it’s almost 3900lbs. Yank that whole useless wiper assembly out, remove the radio, pull that stupid heavy ac system out too

The point was curb weight with fluids full meaning full gas, it’s a 4100+ lbs car.

What's your 2003 Cobra weigh?

On the concentration camp settings, 3250. Driving and usable 3375.

You wouldn’t believe it but somehow with the heavier and higher levels of fuel, oil and fluid the car is faster and runs better. I tried pulling spark plugs for more weight saving but that didn’t help performance either. (Lol)

Whether the gt500 is 3988.6 or 4031.8lbs with low gas and some liberties like draining washer fluid and pulling mats out is basically irrelevant. 100lbs our of 4,000 is 2.5%. With mag shocks good luck feeling that weight.

To clarify, I’m glad the car is almost under 4000lbs. I’d get my own under that weight week 1.

I’m explaining that @DBK wasnt wrong in saying the car isn’t under 4000lbs.

The car kicks ass. Let’s say it’s 4075lbs very comfy with cftp and recarros. Great work. Dct, blower, 16.5” brakes, cooling, wider fenders, beefier suspension and track etc. good job ford, the pulled weight in small places to offset big awesome hardware.

A US gallon of gas weighs roughly 6.4 pounds, so you can keep your ears and toes.

Well looks like I gotta lop off the fingers actually... that puts it 7 lbs behind... sadfacezzz

To fully clarify, I like the op’s thread and it’s my opinion the gt500 is within range of 3999lbs which is great.

I just don’t personally think this car is all that encumbered by it’s weight. Ditching the 70-100lbs will surely help a little, but the car is great without even bothering imo.

still claim it weights 4080 with a full tank of fuel? sorry to go all TT335 on you but it weighed 4080lbs with 2Gallons with a real car in customers hands. add 140ish lbs for a full tank and thats 4220bs.

scale may have been accurate but sure AF wasn't full of gas

oops read wrong tank size. Still not 4080lbs with a full tank, so I'll split the wrong 50/50. 4166lbs with my new and improved math skills.

You’re a disgrace to the uniform. Step aside patawon.

If the non carbon car is 4080lbs with 2 gallons, and that car weighs about 75lbs less with the cftp, 4166-75=4089lbs with full gas.

Take out 90lbs of fuel and a cftp will be a sliver under 4000 for 2 laps.

Like I've said numerous times...and I'll say it again.

If this car puts down world class times on tracks, and is easy for the common person to operate, does it matter if it weighs 3800 or 4500?

No.

Full street trim ran a 10.665. lol FASTER than Ford's claim.
