DEARBORN, Mich., Nov. 14, 2019 – Ford’s all-new, all-electric SUV will don the iconic pony badge and the name Mustang Mach-E when reservations for the vehicle open after it is revealed this Sunday.

The all-electric Mustang Mach-E will make its debut Nov. 17 at an event in Los Angeles that will be streamed on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Autohome (China). Special guest, actor Idris Elba, will help introduce the latest addition to the Mustang family. Immediately following the broadcast – which ends at approximately 6:30 p.m. PST (9:30 p.m. EST) – reservations will open for the Mustang Mach-E at Ford.com.

Customers can reserve their spot in line for the Mustang Mach-E by making a $500 refundable reservation deposit.1 Timing will be critical, especially for a limited First Edition, details of which will be announced as part of the Nov. 17 event.

Customers in the U.S. and Europe who wish to reserve a vehicle can select their desired specification of the Mustang Mach-E, create a Ford account, select their preferred Ford dealer, and enter their credit/debit card details and address.

Customers who reserve a vehicle will be able to finalize their configuration next year when the ordering window opens.

Reservation timing for China will be announced at a later date.

Typical Ford, search the parts bin for leftover unused parts, Spread the word they will no longer produce cars - SUVs are the future, let’s just use some old designs and destroy the heritage of a well-known and well liked vehicle - Mustang. Late to the party as usual. Can’t wait for the Ecoboost E, the Premium E, the GT E, the Raptor E, ST E, the trail rated E, four wheel drive E and more less than creative BS from the overpaid, bloated management.

If ford brought to market a real performance EV, I'd consider that. We're talking 0-60 under 2.9. 1/4s sub 10.6
I'd be Ok with no loud exhaust and a range of 100 to 150 miles. 100K or less too ;)

Just wanted to put my 2cent in but this is Deja-Vu I know I’m an old timer but in 1988 ford wanted to release a new Mustang design with NO V8 engines and will be a front wheel drive with a Mazda MX-6 assembled at AutoAlliance International in Flat Rock, Michigan. Saddly. Enthusiasts did not of wrote to Ford objecting to the proposed change to a front-wheel drive, Japanese-designed Mustang without a V8 option. The result was the continuation of the existing Mustang while the Mazda MX-6 variant had a last-minute name change from Mustang to Probe and released as a 1989 model. My twin brother and I have owned over 80+ vehicles over time and Still over 25+ which half are older mustang from 1964 ¾ to the S197. The New 1989 Probe only lasted until 1997 Image If the Enthusiasts wrote to Ford objecting to the proposed change and the Mustang name would of dead in 1997.

I call my Twin brother all the time in which we discuss that Ford is planning to go Green and is eventually drop all V8’s and only use the 6’s with Supers/Turbo’s and Electrics. Here in Calif. No V8’s by 2035. I believe Ford is testing the waters and if Consumer’s will purchase this Vehicle with the name Mustang but continue the Mustang Line. And unlike the past if the SUV Mustang fail’s the Mustang Name still Continues.

At one time back in 1974 we thought that Performance will never be the same it wasn’t until in 1993 Ford back the Cobra and from then as they call it that was History.

whatever it's called won't matter...

....it won't match the performance of a tesla. I mean cmon.... ludacris mode???? Ford doesn't have the balls to put that into this vehicle

Stole this off FB. It is not a bad looking vehicle really, just change the goddamn name

I thought I would forever own a Mustang. When I started with Mustangs and bought my first one after graduating high school it was a fox body which I modded the hell out of. Then once I could afford a little more I got a Terminator. Then I sold it shortly before the GT350R came out because I thought that Shelby would be my next Mustang. The combination of ridiculous markups and driving a friend’s Model S P85D kind of made me realize that I was getting older and maybe it would be cool to have a car that was blistering fast and that I would not have to pour tons of money to do. I went without a Mustang for 4 years to see what would come out of this event today and I guess I have made up my mind.

I’m never getting a gasoline car again as the performance and instant low end torque of an EV is just something that i could not give up now. After this announcement I guess I’m not buying a Ford or Mustang either which is something I never thought I would say. I will be buying a Model S P100D as I think that 10.6 quarter mile times and 325-348 mile range are more than sufficient for me.

While this “Mustang” EV they announced looks ok I think this reeks of some desperation to boost their “green” creds or some knee jerk reaction to where they think the market is going. I think this car will have the headwind every other EV or hybrid Ford will have: dealers will not be enthusiastic to sell these as traditional trucks and SUVs will make more money.

Comes with the GT500 shifter! The amazingness at Ford continues! Was NOT disappointed with laughs tonight! Ford has turned into the biggest joke on the planet with this thing, er I mean Mustang! LOL

I posted this pic last year, now its here. Would have looked better if they kept it like it was in the pic. Oh well, technology marches on.

IMO, by far the best reasonably affordable EV offering. The name will take a bit getting used to though, but not a deal breaker.

I'm a buyer

Total sell out with 4 doors. Never in history of Mustang 54 yrs. Maybe they thought Porsche did it with suv and their sedan Porsche Cayenne. I thought it was a sell out for Porsche too but at least it they were new models not 911!.

Next GM will do a 4 door Corvette....their not as stupid as ford.. electric maybe....

Corvette sales will probably go up with 4 door Mustang. But at least corvette stayed true to vette. Look what vett released look what mustang. Released. People should seriously be fired. Fish rots from the head down
How sad

You will get a little vomit in your mouth watching this video on mustang

He said guilt free performance...lol. I have plenty of guilt free performance in my gas hogging 5.0 stroker. I never checked MPG because I don't care...I just love smashing the loud pedal and accelerating hard regardless of what is coming out the other end.
You didn't build your car for gas mileage.
