So you guys think Ford just made up 4225lbs or made last minute revisions to re-engineer weight loss? Yea scales are certified but they have to be zero'd daily, sometimes people don't and I doubt shipping companies care all that much. Last time I corner balanced my car it weighed like 150lbs less because I forgot to zero it first.

Maybe it is less than Ford says, they do in fact say a lot of stupid shit lately, just maybe wait till its on a real scale before celebrating?

Just sayin I wouldn't be using a shipping scale as absolute fact.

The shipping companies want the cars to weigh as much as they can, they get paid more. Ford has fought numerous transport companies over the years for inflating weights. 0 chance it's 'under-weight'.

Hooray! It’s 4100 instead of 4200.

Lol. Lame

144# is significant actually.

So the Certificate of Origin comes from the factory and is completed by the dealer?

Nice to see the weight of the GT-500 coming down from the initial Ford estimate.

Correct. The manufacturer ships the MSO to the dealer, then upon delivery we fill out the back and then the consumer registers.

I can appreciate your pessimism. I'll gladly get @Tob's on a scale when it gets here.

The real question will be, will you eat crow or just continue on with how 4081# is too heavy?

just an observation, someone posted on the other forum the same certificate of a 2015 350R and it had the shipping weight of 3566 and SAE horsepower of 43.83...not apples to apples, but something to consider.

Either 4,000lbs. or 4,200lbs,...........the car moves out. In 0-60 times or in the quarter mile.
And I wouldn't mind owning one. In Grabber Lime or Twister Orange.
They're making this car for 3 years, IIRC???

I'm anxious to see the C8 Z06 as well, but that will probably be way of out my pay scale.  lol

Exactly, 10.7/10.8 quarter times and 3.3sec 0-60 for a 4klb+ car to me is impressive even if I was buying or not buying.

No doubt the C8 Z06 will be very impressive, but will come at a cost more than this GT500. I can see the base Z06 starting near $90k and fully loaded $120k+

Meh....In this case it’s absolutely meaningless because there will be cars that weigh 4225 depending on options.

I do think it’s good you can get one down to slightly under 4100 (lol), but many of these cars will be 4200 lbs.

What cars do you think will weigh 4200? What options?

Yes,........
and yes!!

Just got off the scale. I'm a svelte 6'0", 215 lb, hunk of pure man. I like horses (lots of them), sexy women that like to live life on the edge, and Captain Crunch. I also like twins with "twins" if you know what I'm sayin'.

Im not eating any crow, just think its wise to wait until its on a proper scale, it very well could weigh that but ive seen plenty of shipping weights be innacurate to totally off for large items.

It would be baffling to me why Ford would publish a number much higher than what it actually is. Zero logic to that.

Ford Motor Company doesn't control the weight on the MSO. It's written in by the transport company that takes it from the plant.

So it likely comes in less than what you believed to have been promised. Would you rather it was the other way around?
I dont really care if it comes in at 3900 or 4500. I just made a very simple point to not jump to conclusions when it hasn't been properly weighed yet. Just like so many seem to jump to conclusions that its faster than an ACR because of a highly unofficial video. If your car is weighing in at that then the CFTP would most certainly be 39xx and that would make a certain in the know person wrong. Considering he said it wont be under 4k or even close.

13cobra, do you have proper race scales? Id love to see what numbers you get with your own hands
