I don't really need to lol, American or JAP all day. Honestly, I picked the 3.7 cyclone engine>all for DD reliability.

COBRABoB, your GENESIS is a better car than a TERMINATOR!?! Wow, that's all

Where did he say it was? Different strokes to different folks. The Genesis should be it’s a newer performance sedan. That said Bob is entitled to his opinion. Some people are enthusiasts to different vehicles and don’t just have a hard on for one vehicle or brand.

Yeah, we all do have our opinions. Gotta respond ALL opinions, including those who are not fans of Kia/Hyundai. Didn't mean to sound critical to some.

Actually, when I said my Genesis G70 was the best car I'd ever owned, I meant overall. Performance wise, not close. Well, maybe quicker to 60 and braking, but not in the 1/4 mile. For raw power, my Terminator was my best ride. But it lacked a lot in the areas of quality/feature/comfort/engineering. So I'd change what I said to "for overall refinement and perforance, my G70 is the best car I've owned." "For straight line power and gut wrenching excitement, my '03 Cobra was the best car I've owned".

Hard to give your opinion on a subject with 0 firsthand knowledge. Hyundai/kia aren't the same company they used to be. I've owned 2 Hyundai's both of which required less trips to the dealer than any of my fords. The kia stinger is one of the best cars I've driven in the last several years. Should give things a chance before blindly assuming they are garbage.

Giving something else a chance is exactly what this thread started about. I've always had Fords. To date, our Flex is the most reliable car we have ever owned.
I've always been brand loyal to Ford. Lately though, working on their products every day I've seen a real slip since the globalization of the company. This is why I'm looking outside the oval.

Little update:
Headed out shopping this weekend, but I have contacted 3 different dealers that all have the trim level I'm looking for, all are sold.
The one gentleman I spoke with said they have one, strictly for test drives then will order one for you. Demand is crazy right now. Poor timing on my part.

Girlfriend wants one but is torn between it and the Explorer. The safety features on the Telluride are incredible and the 2nd row captains chairs are awesome.

Smart tailgate is cool, stand behind the vehicle with the key for 3 seconds and it opens automatically. You can change the speed it opens and the height it opens to as well. Also has a microphone in front that plays thru the speakers in the back so you can talk to people in the back without yelling. Side cameras for turning and parking

Although I'm not surprised by these features anymore it still blows my mind how feature packed vehicles are nowadays. I feel like for years and years car features were virtually the same for all makes and models excluding some really higher end luxury vehicles. But then all of the sudden in the last 10 years all these new features have just exploded.

kia isn't known for reliability, and the resale value is beyond shit. The older ecoboost TT motors are shit but in 14/15 they solved most of the issues with timing chains and phasers. honestly for quality and reliability SUV a subaru is going to be the best, or a toyota. hell even a hyundai is going to be better.

I work in the auto industry. We review quality ratings every quarter from competitors. Kia and Hyundai have better quality ratings than the big 3, consistently.

My wife was in the similar situation 3 months ago. Ended up in a fully loaded 2019 VW Atlas, much nicer interior, good technology, and its got the most space out of all of the competition. Only downfall is that she traded a 2014 Ford Explorer Sport that felt like it was twice as powerful, but she does not care about racing anyone anyways. Our Atlas is very comfortable and quiet as well. It came with a good/long warranty as well, I hear VW is going away with that soon tho.
