I wish I enjoyed something inexpensive, like knitting or something.

Friday I purchased a Traxxas XO-1 RC car. 100mph out of the box. It's a blast. I went through a set of tires on Saturday sliding across the asphalt and doing some controlled drifting.

Today I bought a Traxxas Ultimate Desert Racer, hopefully it's here in the next couple of days! I figured a 4x4 would be a little more fun as it can actually go in the grass/dirt/snow/etc.

I'll get some actual video in the coming weeks.

Who else has played in the electric RC game?
Let me know how you like that UDR. ARRMA just came out with their Mojave 1/6 scale desert truck to compete with the UDR and both seem insanely good for the price. The big thing is the Traxxas has more scale to it with a solid rear axle while the Mojave has IRS in the back like a giant short course truck.

Both are nuts though and gotta be a killer time on 6s.

Oh yeah! My buddy had a clodbuster.
I have a Hornet, the f150 step side truck(barefoot maybe) and the Astute. All Tamiya stuff.

And some RC 10's with nascar bodies.

Lol I love that snowcat.

My wife would wonder where I was at 4 am, I would be outside trying to plow snow from the driveway.

I also love the GTA sprint.

I’d give two likes if I could. You have some really cool stuff. I had a Blackfoot back in the day and really wanted a Clodbuster.

Clodbusters are still HUGE in the monster truck racing world. Tamiya still makes the kit also - 30+ years after its original debut. They are a ton of fun in stock form all the way through the full race trucks. I kept mine fairly stock as they are easier on parts versus the mod class trucks. Breaking an axle tube on a clod is a terrible experience as half the truck needs to be taken apart to fix. That is the only real downside to the Clodbuster platform.

Another that is seriously fun is the Axial SMT-10 but it was discontinued(they lost the license w/ Monster Jam). There is some talk that they will be partnering with Bob Chandler and Bigfoot to bring it back with a Bigfoot body and new wheels/tires. Its an excellent truck if youre ever looking. Its solid axle, center transmission with a realistic "tube" chassis which is the closest to a scale truck as youre going to get out of the box. Only came in RTR though so if you like building kits its not an option.

I would love to get into this one day.

Right now, we have small-ish townhouse with two kittens, so, this would be rough to add to the mix.

What is realistically the most reliable brand RC car that you can have a lot of fun with?
