Stock Redeye with Just DR’s ran 10.22@134 last night. (Not a press event with Evan Smith).

I don't think GT500 buyers are buying them to have the fastest car at the drag strip. If you want straight line speed only obviously you're going to go with an SRT product.

Has there been any actual lap times, from independent testers, for the 500?

I’d like to compare the 1LE vs the 500 times

I imagine they should have independent lap times fairly soon. I just wish Ford would do it up like Chevy and send a few guys to make sure the car is aligned/has fresh tires/new brakes etc.

It's no secret.

Ford doesn't really do themselves any favors.
You wouldnt believe the number of new cars coming off the trucks that need alignments... Sometimes we have a rash of 1 model thats off, mostly its random. I think the random ones are just careless transporters. Most of the Toyota Logistics delivered cars are solid.

I just noticed that the FGT was tested at big willow with Pobst and it was .01 faster than the new ZR1 also tested by Pobst. Never knew the FGT had actually been tested properly. The ZR1 really is too powerful for its own good on the RC. Too sloppy.

Hillarious. “The resident ford dealer” is already asking to have me booted for trying to help people. How insidious.
Whats the matter, dont like that we are doing stock 10.2 for 58k and that we are giving people an option other than paying your horrendous markups on your ridiculously priced Gt500’s? which Ford dealer are you any way?

I have yet to see any new RE in the $50’s let alone $52k to get $58k otd.

Since when do sticky tires and weld rims equal stock?

I took what 13COBRA said as humor, hence the smiley. No one has done anything wrong here, carry one.
Besides list after market tires and rims as factory stock.

A ZL1 1LE 10 speed with a pulley/tune would be a real threat to a GT500 I think

Unless the pulley/tune is significantly faster than the c7z it would be destroyed on track.

I mean. If I were to take a new GT500 to the dragstrip, I'd run DRs...and run the same time as you did. Then I would pop off those wheels and put on some Pirelli scrubs and lap you on a road course. Then I would pop those off, put on some of the stock Michelin's and drag you up and down on your local highway doing 60 rolls. Then I would go home and have a beer, post about it on SVTP and all you will have to say is, "well I gave $58k for mine"....and my reply will be, "should've spent the extra $30k".

Maybe, and then the Redeye does full bolt ons, runs 9.50’s, and then you do full bolt ons and your DCT goes bye bye, and now you have to spend another $10-15k+ to handle the power, we all know Mustangs are amazing, buy what you like and don’t be such a fan boy... just saying

I know at least a few that are buying them (GT500) for that. I for one, was considering it, until i wised up. Stangmode, for instance, is getting one and he was saying hes going to 10.1. I say bring it on, should be a fun run.

Ondbit, oh how ive missed our enlightening conversations.

well, now youve seen one for 58k. It was not that hard. Just have to have some common sense and be patient.

And thats why to title says “with DR’s”. Most guys know that stands for “Drag Radials”. Most guys run dragradials at the strip. And most guys run them on a wheel. LOL you crack me up dude. Its true you could debate the rear wheel as not being stock. have fun with that. Im OK if my car is not worthy to you.

Being the fastest at the strip, one should not buy a new car, or even street legal car. Get a cj or new srt drag pack or 1k hp fox.

But you are not going to be driving a CJ or Dragpack home at the end of the night, then drive it to work the next day, or take your kids out to dinner and the drive it to a “Drive in” movie and then take it to the car show the following weekend.

That new Dragpack looks scrumptious though, i must admit!

So you paid $53k plus ttl?
Sorry if I don’t believe you. Like I said the cheapest ones I found after a national search were $66k. Puts it over $72k otd.

You never did say factory. You have been comparing a modified vehicle to a stock GT500 run though. Then you back up your times with other modified runs from other modified vehicles.

Which is great, run what you have best times win. You car as it sits is faster than the stock GT500. Do you want a cookie?

The RE is a great vehicle! I would like the Scat Charger Wide in F8 green. If I can find one for $40k otd or $35k purchase I’d buy!
