you’ll run out of durability and dct limit before you’ll run out of hp.

You can easily twin turbo and tune the car for 1500whp on e85 with a $25k budget but the dct will likely need to be stuffed with stronger components and retuned, and the engine block would likely be on very borrowed time.

$30k isn’t the issue, it’s tuning and upgrading the dct as well as finding a great power added kit. Keep it sc to make it easy, and swap to a big whipple sounds great, but it likely won’t clear the hood or fit since the factory supercharger is an inverted design.

Good luck any way you go, these cars will be beasts with just bolt on and tunes. Should hit easy 140mph trap speeds with 750whp. North of 145 with 800-850whp. Stone reliably at that I’d imagine for less than $5k.

Buy a better car

One with a daihatsu badge like @VRYALT3R3D would suffice

So OP, are you saying you have $20-30k you want to throw at a new GT500?
What are your goals?
I also don’t drive anything stock, but until this new DCT is tested, I’d be conservative and do a catless exhaust, go E85 (or some unleaded race fuel if not readily available, but pump E85 a winner here), then pulley down to add 3-4# boost (stock is a joke at 12# on 9.5:1).
Weight loss from Anderson Composites and some carbon ceramic front rotors would help in any performance goal.
And drag radials or Toyo R888Rs.
Good luck.

Just my opinion , but with that type of budget for mods, buy a GT or GT350 now. By next summer it would be outperforming the GT500 by a mile.

This seems to be the ultimate factory performing Mustang, I would keep the mods mild and enjoy it. A pulley change and tune will be worth 100rwhp, watch and see. Spend the rest on a cage, harnesses and a second set of wheels and tires if track driving is in the plans.

I could never drive a stock car, how much additional hp/performance is available for ~$20k? $30k+?

Thanks....

.

You will need the whole $30k to hire an army of chinese to crack the ECU and still will not get anywhere.

I'm not really worried about the $ for a few mods, just trying to understand potential and limitations. On that car (and for me) I would not want to go TT and even very doubtful on an aftermarket blower. Jut trying to understand the art of the possible here. Sounds like the sweet spot is bolt-ons, exhaust, tune, etc. thanks all
