Who's gone from a Mustang to a Challenger Hellcat? Is it a better daily driver than the Mustang? How's the back seat compared to the Mustang? Do you like it better or wish you'd kept your Mustang?
I'm thinking about trading my 2013 5.0 for a 2016 HC. Both are manual. Looking for something fast and with a little more room. I want a manual so the HC Charger is out.

I say yes. Do it.
However, I would get the HC in an Auto. Its better, faster and more fun with an auto. I see you like Sticks, but I'm giving you this advice from a guy that normally drives sticks. especially if you daily drive it.. its infinitely easier on a daily grind, with the auto.

The back seat is like getting a first class upgrade, compared to a stang. very useable for 2 people and it even has an armrest and fold down cupholders.

Now how does it compare to my 2008GT500? well, that is harder and thankfully I still have my 08 so I never have to make that decision. :)

I always wondered how the back seats were in the challenger, car seat friendly or nah? Little dude only rides with me once or twice a week

it’s no suv but it’s suitable for one. I couldn’t do it in a coupe stang that well if at all.

Right now we are both in small cars, my wife a civic and me a focus st. Next upgrade will be a SUV for her and thinking about a scat pack for me. I really want a manual so trying to avoid the charger. Once we have the SUV we will take that everywhere as a family which would only leave him riding with me probably once a week. Thanks for the info might be worth the headache!

I’m a fan of the challenger. It’s at least backseat isn’t laughable. Camaro and Mustang is about pointless imo.

99.9% correct

auto =/= more fun

Yes, auto is faster but manual is more fun, more sense of pride, accomplishment.

auto wins the race, car gets the props and driver just along for the ride.

manual wins the race, driver gets all the props, all the prostitutes, all the cocaine. Capisce?

yes, hellcat’s back seat is very usable, can take all the prostitutes, all the cocaine.

mustang and Camaro backseat is laughable. Maybe fit half an underage prostitute and 1 gram of weed, if that.

I went from a Mustang to a Scat Pack to an A8 Hellcat to an M6 Hellcat and recently to a Boss 302. Challengers are great cruisers just wasn’t that fun doing auto cross etc. I plan on keeping the Boss and might pick up a Charger in the near future. The Challengers are awesome and used ones are getting relatively cheap you will enjoy the car if you pick one up.

Right, again.

Mine is an A8. Great great transmission. The car is a lot faster than it feels with that tranny.

Overall, I like it although do not love it. Would buy again though.

Pros:
- Practical for a muscle car. large back seat, huge trunk. I have had full grown adults in the back. cramped but doable. Have fun trying that in a mustang/camaro LOL
- super comfortable. It is a pimp ride. Seats are great, ride quality is great. My wife wont ride in my Shelby but loves the HC.
- Easy to build big power. injectors/BPA/pulley and you are >750 whp on pump
- Surprisingly nimble for its size. Brakes are off the hook. I have never looked at stopping time but it feels like a mini cooper.

Cons:
- HUGE. So much so that parking can be a problem.
- The driving experience is very numb.
- If you are buying used, be very careful. They made a ton of these and a lot of them were leased to grade A cleetus types that beat the shit out of them.

This is great info. I’ll own one soon enough and for some reason I’m drawn to a manual which should be cheaper.

I had a 11 GT500 (gen2 VMP 700+ rwhp) that I got rid of for a 16 Hellcat challenger and just recently got rid of that for a 19 Redeye.

If it was strictly a weekend toy I think I’d pick the GT500.

For a daily though the hellcat Challenger is vastly superior.....more room, more comfort, more power....just more of everything.
