It’s an exotic, but probably slower than every car you’ve owned recently.
The 12c will outrun both of his AMGs. You guys do realize these things run deep into the 10's right?

Congrats OP. You're going to love it.

thought his rs7 ran 10.3/10.4. Most of the mclarens look like they run 10.7 ish. At best.

Hope he has a good experience with it.

Congrats. I agree with the below. I'm glad you got the warranty and I hope things don't go wrong, but I would be interested in a follow-up of your experiences with the car over however long you end up owning it.

How much warranty is left? I would absolutely, under no circumstances, own a MP4-12C without a warranty.

Not surprised by this thread. Waiting on the next one from OP: "Guys, I'm thinking of trading the MP412C for a Gulfstream..."

Drag times pulled a 10.3. They're definitely under 11 and his is tuned. At the end of the day the 12c weighs 1,400 lbs less than an RS7 so it offers a vastly different driving experience. I'd argue that you notice the rest of the driving experience associated with a lighter sports car vs. a heavy touring sedan more than a few tenths. It will out perform both AMG's in every metric though. It'll be interesting to see what he thinks of it.

After researching the car for 2 days, talking to the previous owner, Mclaren Chicago and Mclaren NA I have decided to pull the trigger. I appreciate everyones response, good or bad. The car will have 2 years of warranty, bumper to bumper, as part of the deal.

I did want to mention that many of you seem to be afraid of foreign cars, specifically euro. I have never experienced a catastrophic failure on any of my euro cars. They have been extremely reliable and fun to drive. Both my AMG cars are literally built like tanks. My audi RS7 got pounded on for nearly 2 years, 20K and never missed a beat. Yes, you go in for some warranty nonsense (gas cap flap would stick on the audi) but the overall experience has been incredible on all my euro cars. Not to mention the customer service from MB and Audi have been excellent.

Matter of fact I have only experienced catastrophic failure on my american cars, specifically my c6z06. I was one of the many many people who had the motor blow up on my Z. 20K in damage with no warranty.

Anyways, I will post pics later. I am supposed to pick her up around 230pm. Let's hope she makes it home and doesnt break down. lololol

I hear yah. However you don't keep cars long enough to know if they are actually reliable or not IMO.

Congrats on the new ride. I hope I'm wrong and it's hardly in the shop.

Congrats on the car , they definitely drive different then anything out there with the light CF tube chassis . I looked at 650S before but decided against it after talking to few people that had them. You have warranty so that's a big plus

If I were in the market for a car in that price range it would be the R8. Amazing machine.
Love mine , has been an awesome car to drive , over 6K miles since April , not a single issue . That V10 engine screaming to 8900rpms behind the ears is really an outstanding experience. I have lift in the garage so oil change cost me $60. Car is pretty nasty on the street from a dig even on cold days .

Love this thing. Definitely on my short list of cars I want to buy if I suddenly come into money
