Whats a good, average price to have a set of V8 dry sleeves installed in an aluminum block, parts and machining? Not just installed but bored, honed and ready for assembly?

Want to get a few quotes from some shops in AZ and SoCal and would be nice to have a ballpark average to gauge if its a good price or exorbitantly high.

Are u referring to a Coyote or the 5.4? The Coyote will be cheaper for sure. The 5.4 will be about a $500-$700 more. About $1800-2000 or so for a Coyote. The sleeves themselves around about a $800-$1000. Darton or MMR for a Coyote. 5.4's are about $1500.

Then the cost of machining, installing etc..... Usually about $125-$150 per cylinder. Price will vary from one shop to another and it also depends on what ur bringing them. Is it the whole motor or was it disassembled before hand. Lotta variables in the cost of sleeving a motor.

I am having my coyote done with Darton sleeves and will be 1800-2000 when done. That seems to be about the going rate. Metro Detroit Area if that matters.

Its a 5.4 2011 GT500 block. They'd get the block with the crank in it. I called up a reputable shop in SoCal. Was quoted a good price installed, about $2000. Will have them assemble shortblock. Need to have mains align honed as Im installing an ARP main stud kit too.

I wonder why the Coyote is cheaper to sleeve.

Im in AZ, but thats a great price for sure. Lived off 19 and Shoenherr with my uncle for a little bit. Spent summers there as a kid, good memories!

Depending on the type of sleeves you're doing, resleeving a coyote/4.6 mod is $2k avg, sleeving a block to correct a bore issue is a lot cheaper and will depend on the shop but $150-$200 for that job is normal. If you need sleeves for a coyote/4.6 mod I have a set of Darton's I'm not going to use that I'm selling.

hey bro, I am pretty sure I paid darton 4k. That may have included shipping though. I will dig up my receipts, give me a few days.

I appreciate the heads up, but the 5.4 sleeves have different length dimensions.
