Those are some NICE seats! How much do they weigh?
I forget the weight, but the seats themselves are fairly light considering they are leather. The carbon fiber backs I'm sure helps offset the leather a little. The sliders and brackets are what weigh so much. When comparing weights between the factory seats the Misanos complete with sliders and brackets they were a few pounds lighter than the manual passenger seat. So on the power drivers probably like 30 lbs lighter or so.

Why were they work to get into the car?

I got the Planted brackets and they did not have the needed range of adjustment to get the seats to sit where I wanted. I had to machine the mounting slots further, drill additional holes, and even heat and reshape them. Still after many, many hours of frustration the upper portion of the seat would contact the door panel when closed. I ended up shimming the rear outside mount a little and finally achieved enough clearance. The whole ordeal was basically to get the seat to sit closer to the center of the car. You also have to mount the seatbelt to the bracket instead of the seat like factory which posed another clearance issue for moving the seat inboard further. The seats also sit lower which is fine but also quite a bit further back. The front seat can actually contact the back seat now. Great for tall or long legged drivers but not so much for me as I like to be up closer to the steering wheel, especially when racing and trying to row the gears. The mounting holes in the seat frame are offset which moves the seat back a few more inches. I tried to offset this by drilling additional holes in the rails to move the seat further forward but there was only so much room to move it forward. So long story short (no pun intended) if I have the seat slid to the most forward travel possible I just barely get the clutch fully to the floor without having to stretch. I've considered getting a clutch pedal extension from AM. I have read many people like them as it lets you sit a little further from the wheel but still able to fully depress the clutch.

Sounds like you've made the same mistake a lot of other people do. I almost did it myself. If your seat is sliding way back and not enough forward, that means your sliding rails are mounted backwards. If you have those universal sliders, the tab on the brass locking plate should be pointed toward the front of the seat, not the rear. Turn the rails around, and you will have all the travel you need.

To be sure, though, do you lift your handle up or push it down to adjust the seat position? If you have to push the handle down, you definitely have the rails on backward.

Seats look good.

I was in the garage with a cell phone camera, man! LOL Those were just some quick snaps I took to show my son. I wasn't planning on sharing them online, but figured I'd do a write-up in case somebody else was considering Braum seats. I'm thinking about pulling both cars out this weekend and taking some better pics of the "brothers" together with the big camera. Braum racing offers a 5% discount, if you send in some good pics of the seats installed.

Yeah I did check the rails when installing and pretty sure they are correct but I will look again. Handle pulls up to slide seat. Thanks for the input.

Could you refer me to the video you found of slack in the elite seat backs? Thanks.

It was on YouTube. Just do a search for "Braum racing seats review" and look for the ones with the guy with the 350Z. I can't remember his name. It was either him or the guys who installed them in a Subaru Legacy.

Thanks, I'm looking at the Maroon Elite seats, and hoping they will somewhat match my lava red interior.

What made you get rid of the factory Recaros? Maybe I missed that.

I am really contemplating the TMai Viper Pro Jrs and having them done with factory 03-04 Cobra Dark Charcoal Rears.

I didn't have factory Recaros in my GT500.

Swapped the Braum S8s out for a set of Elites in black suede. (Yes, I know the cell phone pic is crappy.)

These aren't as supportive as the S8 Series seats, but they're also not nearly as aggressive. They're a lot easier to get in and out of. They're still brand new, so they're rather hard, but I expect them to soften up a bit as they wear in. They are a better match for the interior, though. The stitching on the seats is virtually identical to the stitching on the OEM shift boot. The Braum logo is also stitched in black, so it's not noticeable anymore like the silver logo on the other seats. I think I'm going to enjoy these more on a long weekend drive. The S8 Series seat would start to dig into my thigh after a couple hours. I don't foresee that being an issue with these seats.

Since you didn’t have the factory Recaros, what made you go with Braum over finding factory Recaros?

I did find a set of factory Recaros for sale, but we couldn't get together on the shipping method. Plus, for the price of the factory Recaros, I could buy a set of full carbon fiber seats in the aftermarket. The Braum seats are nice, supportive, and cheap as hell.

How are they rated for crashes?

I have Corbeau GTS IIs in my GT and I will most likely replace them with TMIs. However my current concern is finishing the build and getting it back on the road.

I don't know about these. They have FIA certified seats and use essentially the same frame in all their seats. So I imagine they're fine in a crash. I'd be more concerned about the seat mount failing than the seat itself.

Great write-up thanx! Any updates on how they feel now that they are broken in?
