Just saw the new Dodge commercial where Santa has Hemi stuff coming out of his bag. Rebates of $10 per HP with $7,900 ! on Demon !

Would someone at Ford advertising pull their head out of their ass.

I can't find a link to the ad, if anyone spots it, throw it up please.

I can not even think of the last Mustang ad I have seen on TV....... Looks like Dodge got the Pontiac Trans Am ad team at the time those were the best car ads

I doubt FCA/Dodge/Ram cares that they have to discount. They want to move units.
Last year they outsold Chevy in the 1500 market IIRC. That made news.
Wouldn't shock me if they were still in 2nd place.

They are reaching the end(hopefully) of these older chassis cars.

Seems they are going towards volume sales in a saturated market.
Some weekend warrior may be horsepower shopping and sees a 797hp Redeye for 8k under MSRP or a 760hp GT500 with a 5-10k ADM.
Unless he's hellbent on a roadtrack based car it or was deadset on a Mustang, Dodge has a chance to steal/win a sale.

The sad part is that most will never see a GT500 on the lot for sale.

Then you see ads like this that just irritate a guy. Good for them if they can find the guy who will pay that I guess.

Or a deal like this. $14,964 off MSRP, not a bad damn deal.

We live in a country called supply and demand.

When the goal is to sell cars and it costs so damn much to develop a model, I just don't see the point in self limiting the amount you sell.

I'm the weekend warrior type, looking for the best deal on HP. Not going to track the car, just looking for some straight line fun. I'd take the Hellcat. And as a bonus, I can actually fit more than 2 people in one.

I dont think you really understand the concept of supply and demand.

Just remember everyone of these gt500s will sell. They're not limiting themselves because someone will buy them. Just because we cant afford them or refuse to pay the premium doesn't mean some other person isnt.

Wait for the hype to come down. Then if you are still interested go look for a deal.

What good is a halo car that nobody see's? Or worse yet, just pisses off your customer base with ADM's? The goal isn't to help Dodge sell Hellcats to irritated Ford customers.

Does it bother you that much because you choose not to try and buy one?

Same thing happened in 2006/2007 for the return of the Shelby GT500. People were paying 90k-100k for a Msrp car in the 50s.

I waited for the hype to go down and bought mine new at the end of 2008 and paid a little over invoice plus tax and license.

It bothers me because I want Ford to be successful. It bothers me that Ford doesn't promote Mustang. In 06/07, Ford had no big 3 competitors to the GT500.

Since I spent the bucks on my nicely equipped 3V and have my 19 GT for day to day, I am not in the market for a supercharged car. That doesn't mean I don't want Ford to be aggressive with selling and marketing the current offerings.

1st remember ford themselves dont make the markups.

2nd ford success on the new GT500 is big. Without all the marketing or promoting its still got people to keep talking about it. Look it all the threads it go on this forum alone.

3rd you are correct in 06/07 ford did not have a direct competitor. Which made it easier to sell. The history of the shelby name also helped.

4th your 19 is a really nice car. Personally i love the color and for a DD you picked the right car imo. 5.0 with an A10 is a great combo.
