Stock Redeye with Just DR’s ran 10.22@134 last night. (Not a press event with Evan Smith).

Nice run!
Looks like skinnies. Was he running the crate parts and Nitto DRs?
And you know, your RE can make 900rwhp pretty easy on Corn.
If you got a narrow body, might even be a sleeper of sorts.

That part was funny. You know guys who say DA doesn’t matter are always the guys running at quality sea level tracks in mineshaft DA.
I love my Hellcat and I’ll buy another if they make a Red Eye Charger, but the GT500 has more potential in my eyes.
Stock GT500 running a quality DR on a sticky track in -DA should be impressive, just like the Demon was.
Now take that GT500, feed it some high octane fuel and up the very low stock 12# boost and hold on.
OP, I assume this is a narrow body Challenger RE? Fastest RE configuration. What is stock boost?
I see 11psi on my stock Hellcat on cold days.
You have a ton of potential to mod that RE as well, no way I’d turn a new one down at $58k

I became keenly aware of the effects of DA at the last Colorado Mile I attended before I sold my 2014. DA was over 8K in the afternoons. My car was running 121-22 in the quarter, 147-148 in the half, and 171-173.5 in the full mile. Interestingly enough I tried searching for stock standing mile times for 13-14 stock cars and could only locate Derek Venables's times from the Texas Mile from years ago. His only timeslip I found he was running 150 or 151 in the 1/2 and 174 in the full mile. A rough illustration of the difference thinner air makes on acceleration over 150, he was 3-4 faster in the half and less than 1 faster at the Mile finish. Don't know if I posted that before but thought you'd find that interesting.

OP has a really nice ride with his RE and can really drive as evidenced by his 1.4x 60-foot on drag radials. He's not giving himself enough credit for being a good driver and I seriously doubt there's much difference between he and Evan Smith in an auto.

We're lucky we can still bench race gasoline powered vehicles. The gasoline powered car is in big trouble as soon as the cost to produce electric drops below gasoline. From that point forward automakers will invest even less in developing gasoline powered performance cars. The end is nigh and we should all enjoy while we can. I'm gonna save up and stretch my budget for this 2020+ GT500, Ford's best ever.

I don't know how well the Redeyes do in roll races.
There's a modified one on Youtube taking on a stock ZR1 and the ZR1 takes all races. I think there were 4 all together. I think the Redeye was over 850rwhp too. lol

But, that's really good OP. For a stock car, that's moving out, especially for a car that size. Congrats on those runs.
That cold air feeds these machines.

I picked up a new Redeye Monday.

Standard body.....every option except the HK radio and sunroof (3.09 rear end). Paid $66.5k (not a stripper version)

Took it to SGMP today. Ran 3 clean passes (totally screwed up the line lock on one and it messed up my whole pass).

Weather was perfect (high 60’s/low 70’s with a headwind).

A little over 600 miles on it with a set of MT ET streets.....10.7@133 on 1.8 60’s. I was idling off the line just getting a feel for it. There was plenty more in the launch and I’ll keep pushing until I find the limit.

My back 1/8’s were all 3.8 seconds and picking up right at 30mph.

It’ll gain a little bit with a few more miles I’m sure. I’m not a great driver but with a little more practice And figuring out how far I can push it and not spin I’ll easily cut much better 60’s and be well under 10.5’s.

thats driveway demons. That ZRI had ported intake and headers - tune. far from stock.
Driveway demons was having traction issues. Just had the work done, was making crazy power and could not hook. 910 rwhp in these cars hooks very well. Once he got some tire on it, he was well into the 9’s.

No,........I don't think so.
His ZR1 was stock when he ran the Redeye the first time IIRC. His ZR1 is not stock currently.
Yes, it was Driveway Demons.

It's a shame a new 500 wasn't at OP's track on the same night. It would have beat OP car handily.

Do you even 6 figure?

Except the amount of people paying MSRP for a GT500 is a fraction of those buying while the Red Eye is being discounted by 10s of thousands of dollars right this minute.

Not a realistic representation at all. Maybe a few years from now yea, but not today.

No different than when the hell cat 1st got released and no different when the demon got released. They all had mark ups. Its funny how alot of you forgot that. Once the hype comes down they will sell for MSRP or even cheaper. Its not gonna take 2 years for that either.

i can help you get that time down a bit at hellcat.org. Thats a great first run though! Better than i did. Congrats!

I’m over there (same screen name...don’t post much).

It’ll get better (I hope ). Those were my first couple runs with it and I didn’t want to go crazy with it until I got a little more seat time (and a few more miles).

I was only loading it up to 1k...maybe 1200 rpms and letting it roll out a little before I started giving it more gas and it was sticking fine. I’ll push it harder next time I’m out when I have some more miles and see what she does...without a doubt it would have held just fine launching several hundred rpm’s higher and rolling into it quicker than I was.

Playing around with all the new features (line lock, I was trying to run it up to the line in track to get as much IC chilling as I could and then switching it over to custom so I could have the suspension set on street, etc.) had me out of my routine a little compared to how I used to be with my 16....

That and they were also running a open comp event simultaneously and kept randomly changing the tree from a countdown to the comp tree so I couldn’t get in a good “routine”.

It was still a blast though. Went back and looked at my runs and DA’s were between 100’-400’.

See this is why I think Ford is missing a huge opportunity.
SRT has awesome OEM applications of drag race options: line lock, transbrake, 2-step, chiller, suspension.
They built an awesome 5.2 Predator combo and have other great models for the road course.
Let’s see the Drag pack, or even anew model (Mach 1) -J

Exactly... so we agree they aren’t even close in price and won’t be for a while.

@SID297 is a nicer guy than me. I'd be launching people for redirecting website traffic :)
